About this deal

I’d left Alana my credit card that morning, and while I’d told her that I didn’t care how much of my money she spent, I did want to know exactly what I might be walking into later. This book will never be finished. The writing is not good, the premise, story, or characters- it just wasn’t good. Alana is a good person, I like at least that about her. But I’m unable to fall into that because, even if it’s not from Alana’s perspective, the author is truly overdoing it with trying to depict Alana like “she’s not other girls” through Alejandro’s perspective. It ruins it. Like, we don’t need comparison for her to be a wonderful person that Alejandro didn’t expect. But alas, instead of showing us through beautiful language, plot and writing, that author finds the basic-est way to “prove” that Alana isn’t… As she gets to know this stranger, this powerful man, a gradual awareness comes over her that maybe he isn’t the total monster she has been led to believe he is. Their shared secrets of their pasts leads her to discover he may be an ordinary man and possibly worthy of her attention. The supporting characters were fantastic! I really liked Jax and Hugo! Oh Hugo ... Sigh This book was erotic, sensual and sexy hot!! Both Alejandro and Alana together are what fantasies are made of! I made my way to the dining room and wondered if I was going to regret my decision to eat dinner with my new wife, and whether I would regret even more allowing her to choose the meal. Instead of showing us their interaction as they are pretending to be a couple and outrageously flirting with each other, our author just tells us that happened. No dialogue, just a paragraph saying, “Yup, we did this.” And what’s worst is this is the first time these two have supposedly acted romantic with each other, even if it is an act. You would think that would warrant an actual scene rather than just a drive by, half paragraph, surmising. This is said paragraph: Alana is marrying Alejandro but not for love. She is marrying to save her father’s life. She will never love this monster of a man. Bow down to this king? Never. Ah! It’s like the author writes the action but never divulges into the emotions that may cause the action. So, as a reader, you just gotta trust she’s affected but you’ll never be able to actually feel it, how the heroine feels it.This book starts with an arranged marriage where in 2 people both assume they know the other party but of course have no clue. Alejandro is so sure he knows everything he needs to know about his new bride that its fun to watch as he is taken by surprise over and over again as she reveals who she really is. His assumptions are not all correct and he soon realizes that maybe he can love someone. Alauna has only 1 impression of her new husband and its not good. However through a series of trials and slow revelations she learns that he is actually exactly what she has always wanted. Two bottles of ketchup. A box of English breakfast tea. Four bags of gummy worms. Two picture frames. Two candles. Two bottles of bubble bath and an anti-allergen pillow.’ Alejandro Montoya is the King of the LA underworld. Alana Carmichael has just become his wife. It was good for business, he needed an heir and she was trying to keep her father out of prison. A few hours later, the three of us were sitting on the patio. We’d eaten a beautiful lunch and Maria had regaled me with dozens of stories of Alejandro as a child. He had rolled his eyes throughout and admonished her for the more embarrassing ones, but she had simply laughed and told him not to be so grumpy. Alejandro Montoya is the type of “boy” my mama always warned me to stay away from! The thing is ... he’s not just another “boy.” He is SEXY! He is RUTHLESS! He is ALL MAN!

I swallowed as they drew nearer. What if she hated me? What if she was one of those mothers who never thought anyone was good enough for her son? Why the hell did I even care? In the first of Ms. Kincaid’s Ruthless series, all located in large cities, London Ruthless starts with Dark Angel. Gabriel Sullivan is a calculating, ruthless man, at the top of his game. Always getting what he wants, he moves in a dark, dangerous world and he’s at the top of his game.

It does end in a cliffhanger and I was annoyed and depressed when it finished. I havent read a good Mafia/Dark Romance book in awhile and I can't wait for more. Samantha calls Gabriel her angel. The things they do together may feel heavenly but they are certainly not angelic. He feels like the devil and he knows he’s not good enough for her but he just can’t walk away; she needs his help. Her life may depend on it. Ryan Renewed is a fifth entry in the Ryan Rule series. A dark mafia romance, it starts after the end of the Ryan reign. A complete story on its own, it doesn’t affect the how you read the first four books or the ending of the fourth story. The next Ruthless series is set in Los Angeles amongst the barrios and mafia crime families. The Fierce King reveals the seamier, barbaric, menacing side of the City of Angels.
