About this deal

Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 features 6 versatile FX – Sweep, Filter, Crush, Dub Echo, Noise and Space – and are available on every channel. Use the parameter control knob to fine-tune the FX. Beat FX For live-streamers and broadcasters, the DJM-A9 offers phantom power – facilitating the use of a high-quality condenser microphone to capture your voice with ease. This industry first feature is combined with an impressive mic channel strip. The microphone channel offers two band EQ, three dedicated microphone FX (Echo, Pitch and Megaphone) as well as a silky-smooth mic reverb and the usual talkover functionality. This is actually pretty awesome. You can now patch in an iPad for effects, for instance by routing in a Pioneer RMX-1000 via the iPad app that emulates every function of that unit, although any compatible app can work. More accurate clip indicator: a redesigned gain structure ensures meters don't go into the red too early.

Moving across to the Beat FX section, the colour display perfectly highlights the status of the Beat FX in a clear and concise manner that’s easy to interpret. The Xpad is now in a longer straight line – this change allows expressive changes with a simple slide of your finger, adjusting parameters for a variety of effects – for example Echo/Ping Pong replicates a tape effect when the parameters are slid. The display features lighting that corresponds to the X-Pad configuration – adding to the ease of use. The Pioneer DJ DJM-A9 is the next generation of professional DJ mixer, designed to replace the DJM-900NXS2 as the industry standard mixer for clubs, festivals, radio stations and serious live streamers. With significant enhancements to sound quality, playability, connectivity, and the creative Beat FX capabilities of the mixer – the A9 has been built to elevate your performances. Sound Enhancements The DJM-900NXS2 is the next generation mixer, improving greatly on it's predecessor with high quality components, and a load of new and improved features. Improved channel fader curves: the three curves have been fine-tuned for more precision and control.

It’s clear that the A9 has been designed as the heart of the booth, boasting an impressive range of connectivity options. As you would expect, there are the usual analogue, digital and ethernet connections. In addition, the A9 is future-proof thanks to the inclusion of both USB-B and USB-C connections to computers – whether Mac or PC, and regardless of the software platform of choice, DVS* sets are possible with both Rekordbox and Serato DJ. The X-pad is now also improved, because you get eight virtual buttons on it, that are lit from behind and change depending on the effect. The only way of changing beat values was with hardware buttons before, but now, you can do so by pressing the corresponding part of the X-pad when using compatible FX. In other modes, it works much as the old pad used to. The screen is much-improved too, and Pioneer DJ is catching up a bit with the amazing effects areas on the Allen & Heath Xone:DB mixers, for instance, here.

There are also three new beat effects, Mobius (this changes the frequency of the oscillator to constantly rise or fall in time with the beat. You can tweak the parameters to make the sound longer or shorter and change the waveform to alter the character of the sound), Triplet Filter (which changes the cut off frequency cyclically for the filter which is synced to the beat, based on three beats – a time signature often used to modulate liquid DnB basslines) and Triplet Roll (this records the input sound when the FX on/off button is pressed and outputs the recorded sound repeatedly according to the selected beat division – perfect for UK Garage build ups). The FX section has had an upgrade on the DJM-900 NXS2 with the addition of a parameter knob for more manipulation of the colour effects.

Independent Send/Return: connect external hardware and software to use alongside the internal FX. InterApp support means you can use FX/Instrument apps on your iPad - for example the virtual RMX-1000 app. Talking of sharing the mixer with other DJs, the DJM-900NXS2 has twin USBs meaning twin sound cards, so two DVS DJs can share the mixer by plugging their laptops in simultaneously, making DJ switchovers a smooth and wonderful thing (Pioneer has of course taken a leaf straight out of Rane’s book with this feature). There are multiple improvements to the Beat FX too. Vinyl brake does what it says, with adjustable timings for slow or fast vinyl stop, and ping pong echo adds a frankly not very useful addition to the arsenal (why have a stereo echo when most club sound systems are mono anyway?). The FX Frequency selector lets you choose which frequencies to apply Beat FX to, such as isolating a delay effect only to the high-frequencies, for instance. Find out how to use advanced features including Quantize and Link Monitor. Get creative with Sound Color FX and Beat FX and use external equipment to effect the audio via send/return. Changing settings on the DJM-900NXS2More accurate clip indicator: a redesigned gain structure ensures meters don’t go into the red too early. The new Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 has 4 phono inputs, DVS support and 2 USB ports for easy switch over during sets. The DJM-900NXS2 has undergone a complete overhaul under the bonnet to deliver clear sound with more depth and colour:
