About this deal

Designed for sanding surfaces prior to the application of wood finishes such as waxes, varnishes and lacquers, Woodleys Flexible Sanding Pads are excellent for preparing otherwise difficult to reach surfaces, such as turned or shaped chair and table legs plus furniture trim and mouldings. Our 3M™ Perfect-It™ Denibbing System is a revolutionary way to remove dirt defects in auto body paint surfaces. With its lightweight, cordless, handheld 3M™ Perfect-It™ Denibbing Tool and abrasive stems, the system uses micro-sanding to eliminate the time and expense of sanding and polishing entire freshly-painted panels even for small repairs. Instead, you precisely remove individual dirt nibs and re-polish the surface. Each repair area is no larger than a U.S. quarter. This small area repair technique also significantly reduces water mess and compound slush, saving cleanup time.

Denibbing pads may be used wet or dry for cleaning/removal of impurities, oxides and dirt. The three dimensional structure of the pads is easy to use on contoured surfaces and profiles, as well as areas which are difficult to reach. Mirka Mirlon pads are recomended when decorating for the removal of raised grain on timber after an initial coating has been applied, and recommended for denibbing between subsequent coats. As mentioned above, it is vital that worktops are treated straight away – that is why our pre-installation oiling service is a mandatory requirement if purchasing another option from our bespoke cutting service (freshly cut timber can be susceptible to movement and therefore immediate oil treatment is required if wood is to be cut or altered in any way). Our pre-oiling service will ensure that your worktop reaches you in superb condition.Once the worktop is completely clean, you can begin to apply Rustin’s Danish oil, or our own Worktop Express Danish Oil for Worktops. Add a layer to the top and edges paying special attention to the end grain (this tends to be more absorbent than the rest of the worktop and may require extra coats).

Woodleys Flexible Sanding Pads are excellent for flattening wooden surfaces or furniture prior to the application of wood finishing products or paints. Because of their flexibility and versatility, de-nibbing pads are now widely used by painters, decorators and craftsman and are often used in place of the more traditional sanding papers. The fine grit lightly smooths (de-nibs) microscopic "nibs" or "bumps" that can occur in-between varnish coats from settled, trapped dust. With a specially woven structure that tends to resist clogging from wood particles, these pads can be used dry or wet for the removal of surface impurities from wood and furniture including dirt and oxides. After that, it is easy! If you oil regularly for the first six weeks, the worktop will build up oil protection sufficient so that you may leave this and only re-oil once every three months. here, and I’m going to use it to show you how to denib oils. Wood is a naturally porous material, and when you put oils on wood, they soak in, giving excellent liquid repellency and protection while still maintaining a natural look and feel. When you apply an oil on you want to remove all excess as soon as you can, and then you want to help open some of those pores again by denibbing, use a Hi, I’m Ben O’Reilly From Wood Finishes Direct and Welcome to the Product Test and How to Video Guide, in this video I am going to be discussing

Mirka Mirlon denibbing pads are especially designed for sanding surfaces prior to the application of finishing coats, primers or lacquers. The pads work excellently when sanding wood, plastic, metal components as well as painted surfaces where their woven structure resists clogging. Our worktops are supplied pre-sanded to a 150 grit finish, but sometimes it is worth going over the worktop yourself for an extra smooth surface. Use 120 grit orbital sanders all over, then finish by sanding the top and edges lightly with a pad. This will remove any splinters. A full list of products featured and used in this video is available in the description on YouTube, also if you have any questions or would like some advice feel free to here. When you do apply a surface finish, such as a varnish or a paint it’s only natural you are going to get imperfections such as brush strokes and bumps or areas that have slightly more finish than others Manns Flexible Sanding Pads, I’ll be using one in p180. Just work across your project working with the grain, applying just enough pressure to smooth it out the finish. Because you are roughing up the surface as well it’ll improve the adhesion of any further coats too. Also once you’ve finished denibbing, give the area a wipe over with a Manns Microfibre Cloth as well.
