About this deal

Arrant, Chris (July 23, 2016). "2016 Eisner Award Winners (Full List)". Newsarama. Archived from the original on July 7, 2017. My God, those covers! Inhumanly sexy, even with the green skin. And the humor is pretty good to. But damn, the covers! The story is another matter altogether. While it starts off as fun, it feels too PG-13 for me. Each issue features a case in court, mostly involving simplified legal cases with superheroes. The volume gets tedious by the end when it devolves into just fighting a bunch of supervillains escaped from prison.

She-Hulk by Dan Slott Omnibus Review! - Comic Book Herald She-Hulk by Dan Slott Omnibus Review! - Comic Book Herald

The Last Defenders (2008) #1-6: See Guide to the Defenders. She-Hulk is a featured co-star in this Defenders revamp.

Next up are the jokes, which I wouldn't say are particularly bad, nor are they good; they just... are. Words like "plain," "meager," and "thin" come to mind. Clearly, humor is yet another facet of Slott's writing that seems to have improved with time. Fortunately for him though, and unlike so many other writers out there, none of the jokes were bad enough to be unpleasant, and this shortcoming wasn't nearly as pronounced as it could have been. Also collects Thing: Freakshow (2002) #1-4. This issue has subsequently been collected alongside the run of Fantastic Four (1998). See Guide to Fantastic Four or Guide to Thing (eventually) for more information. This focus on comic book continuity and nerd culture at the expense of legitimate misogyny isn’t just part of this one gag, though – it permeates the book and the way She-Hulk is written. I mentioned above that Jen’s entire character in the book is that she’s so insecure about herself that she sleeps with a lot of men. This dynamic is treated as both a flaw in Jen’s personality that she needs to get over, but also presented in a way that frequently feels like it’s leering at Jen. Marvel Comics Presents #89, 93, 98, 99, 116, 119, 129, 130, 132–136, 148, and 156, Marvel Comics, 1991–1994

Rogers, Vaneta (September 28, 2008). "Baltimore '08: Slott Takes On Mighty Avengers, More Marvel". Newsarama. Archived from the original on February 7, 2014. What I like: The fun good nature of the comic is good. I also like Jen, she's funny but not dumb funny. The art is unique and makes everyone different. I also really enjoyed the middle case (which is the best one) in the first volume. Before Savage She-Hulks: Fall of the Hulks: Alpha (2010) #1, Fall of the Hulks: Red Hulk (2010) #2, Fall of the Hulks: Gamma (2010) #1, Red Hulk (2008) #20, The Incredible Hulk (1968) #606-607She-Hulk’s approximate chronology during AvX: New Avengers (2010) #24, X-Men Legacy (2008) #266-267, Uncanny X-Men (2012) #12, Wolverine & The X-Men (2011) #11, Uncanny X-Men (2012) #12, Avengers (2010) #28, Avengers Vs. X-Men (2012) #7, 9, & 11 Hulk (2014) #15-16: See Hulk. She-Hulk is the featured co-star in this story. Because of the timing of these issues, it’s likely her last appearance until any “Last Days” action closer to the beginning of Secret Wars. Also in this period: Free Comic Book Day (2020) Spider-Man/Venom, Captain America (2018) #27, Marvel (2020) #5, Marvel’s Voices: Legacy (2021) #1, Avengers: Curse of the Man-Thing (2021) #1, Spider-Man: Curse of the Man-Thing (2021) #1, X-Men: Curse of the Man-Thing (2021) #1, Women of Marvel (2021) #1 Onslaught: See Guide to Marvel Universe Events – Onslaught. She-Hulk appears only twice in this event – in Avengers (1963) #400 and Fantastic Four (1961) #416. Collects Marvel Graphic Novel (1982) 18 – The Sensational She-Hulk OGN, the She-Hulk prologue story from Marvel Comics Presents (1988) #18, and only the John Byrne issues of Sensational She-Hulk (1989) #1-8, 31-46, & 48-50.

Probably more than half of her superhero peers balance their civilian jobs with their costumed exploits. So why can't she?] During #19: Avengers: Deathtrap – The Vault (1991) OGN, Avengers (1963) #325, The Terminus Factor in Avengers West Coast (1989) Annual 5 & Avengers Annual (1963) 19, Silver Surfer (1987) #36, Impossible Man Summer Vacation Spectacular (1990) #1 (4th story), Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-Man (1976) #168-170, Thor (1966) #420-421 The book is a little goofy, and some of it doesn't work, such as the idea of a law library made up of comic books. It might have worked as a throwaway joke, but too much effort is wasted trying to justify it. And the format is a little stale, with Jen working on cases that, surprise surprise, just happen to have a bearing on her own problems. And there's some predictable fighting. But the Jen / She-Hulk dichotomy is interesting and feels fresh. A very prestigious law firm promptly hires her but under the strict condition that she be only Jennifer when working. The law firm had a new superhuman law branch and Jen is going to work there.

Une très bonne lecture dans l'ensemble sur ces 2 runs She Hulk (2004/2005). Première lecture sur She Hulk alias Jennifer Walters, et j'ai beaucoup apprécié découvrir ce personnage. This volumed renumbered to include all of the numbering of prior volumes to continue directly from Hulk (2017) #11. [ Marvel Unlimited] She-Hulk also appears in the following comics during this era, which I have yet to place in chronology :Avengers: Heroes Welcome (2013) #1, Marvel 75th Anniversary Celebration (2014) #1, Deadpool’s Art of War (2014) #3, Deadpool’s Art of War (2014) #4 Sure, once she gets her powers from Dr. Doom, she goes full generic villain, and her dialogue never becomes clever or intelligent, context alone carries her. The first time she gets her powers, she goes after her bullies, which I get. I don’t condone it, but I get it. Paul Pelletier and Scott Kolins’ art fair a little better, but not by much. Where Bobillo’s proves to be an acquired taste, Peletier and Kolins’ art styles just prove generic. They’re definitely familiar in how they draw She-Hulk. The problem is that they’re trying to do that thing where comic book artists imitate the details of real life rather than their own true style.

She-Hulk by Dan Slott: The Complete Collection, Volume 1

There is nothing I can see (beyond a slight modicum of discipline) stopping her from getting the best of both worlds. She practically says so herself! Am I missing something here?] So the big story is with Jen working in Super human law and I love the way events transpire for it to happen and Slott writes them so well. Then the cases are even better, each one funny or satirical and the way they make use of Marvel continuity aka stories as case precedents was genius haha!I wondered, briefly, if I’d finally figured out a method to cheating disease altogether. You know, my diet of banana pudding, peanut butter Cap’n Crunch, hamburgers, and beer had overwhelmed any would be pathogen before it could do me any harm.
