About this deal

Super Dinosaur: How else can one explain a series about a T-rex who wears battle armors to fight dinosaur mutants armed with BFGs or BFSs? The 1970s Aston Martin Lagonda looks like something out of a science fiction film. It was designed by a man named William Towns and although seeing a Lagonda on the road is a rare sight indeed, the striking wedge-shaped design is instantly recognisable. Having designed the previously unthinkable with 1972’s still-iconic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, he effected the same revolutionary thinking at Patek Phillipe. Like the Royal Oak, the Nautilus had a rounded octagonal shape and ‘integrated’ bracelet, and like the Royal Oak it’s still virtually un-tweaked, with even more power to summon the heady extravagance of the disco era.

Chevrolet engines were planned to be used but it was Ford that showed the most enthusiasm. At first, Shelby used Ford’s 7.5-litre V8 but it was the 4.7-litre (or 289 cubic inch) V8 which would become the most famous engine. That said, the 7.0-litre unit later introduced to make the Cobra more competitive on the GT racing scene also grabbed attention – these models also got heavily revised suspension and a modified chassis, too. Some of the 7.0-litre models were built for racing and some for road use – the latter known as ‘427 Cobra S/Cs’ with S/C standing for ‘semi-competition’. Of those that do pop up for sale, many have been modified to some extent so there will likely be competition for any clean original examples. Changes made by owners range from full-blown race car conversions to massive exhaust tips, bigger spoilers and more aggressive styling. A one-eyed seventy year old nun who runs a gun-smuggling 'church of violence' and whose weapon of choice is a golden Desert Eagle she fires one handed? Iron Woobie (it doesn't matter that they are The Woobie; as long as the good guys still stand, despite their many misfortunes, it's still cool and amazing.)In the season four premiere of Star Trek: Enterprise, the Enterprise's targeting sensors are disabled, requiring the ship to get close enough to the target to eyeball it. This serves no plot purpose but the target happened to be a facility in Nazi-occupied New York. The result was the Enterprise flying over New York City, fighting Stukas with plasma cannons. Primeval: It's implausible and silly half the time, but it's about crazy scientists fighting time-traveling DINOSAURS. The development team does their research, but they don't apply it at all and instead take Artistic License – Biology in heedless abandon. One episode even featured a raptor chase through a shopping mall. On motorbikes. Star Trek: You could fill a hundred encyclopedias with all the technical and narrative inaccuracies; two dimensional space, clear contradictions in the standard operating procedures of Starfleet, glaringly inefficient ship designs, unrealistic scale of space, unrealistic equipment, convoluted timeline of events, the list is infinite. However....when Trek fires on all cylinders warp nacelles, NOBODY gives a damn. A detachable bionic eye/camera? Rule of Cool. Foam grenades? Rule of Cool. Glasgow!? Rule of Cool. The entire thing is an exercise in attaching balls to walls. Nobody will know what it is, but that air of mystery isn’t the only thing that makes the Facel II cool (we’ll admit the name is a bit awkward, though). Built in tiny numbers by a company that went bankrupt not long after it started making cars, just 26 right-hand-drive Facel IIs were made. This French luxury GT car was billed as the fastest four-seater coupe in the world in 1962 thanks to the 6.3 and 6.7-litre Chrysler V8s that powered it.

Regardless, more than 50 years on Mercedes’ design still looks stunning despite the relatively simple (by modern standards) body shape. The geometry of the SL’s removable coupe top reminded people of East Asian temple roofs and it soon became known as the Pagoda. There could even be a celebrity connection - the cool factor of somebody famous is likely to rub off on whatever they drive, just look at film star Steve McQueen. If it wasn't for the car chase in the movie Bullitt, would the Ford Mustang be as revered as it is?Aleph: One of the things that Game Theory has as a major theme is that Surprisingly Realistic Outcome occurs, and that doing something crazy-awesome and insane... is crazy and insane, and doesn't have to work just because it's the hero doing it.

The Dinosaur Lords is based on one very simple concept: medieval knights riding dinosaurs into battle. How do you tame a dinosaur? Can you tame a dinosaur? If you tamed it, could you ride it? Would it even want to charge into battle? It does not matter — what matters are medieval knights riding dinosaurs into battle. This is the nature of witchcraft. A witch is simply someone Genre Savvy enough to take advantage of this rule. A specific example in soul society of bending the rule that meant they couldn't 'fly' in the first place - the Dynamic Entry into the cells where Rukia is held is assisted by a giant winged device that is ONLY useful in the Seireitei. A giant wing comes from nowhere while Ichigo radiates his badass aura, to the surprise of two captains, before discarding it and landing next to Rukia. Among the concepts that walk the infamous thin line between "clever" and "stupid" are a German ninja, a giant robot mummy, and a martial arts master who takes off his sash and uses it to slash an enemy robot in half. But you didn’t come here for an ontological treatise on the nature of cool: you came here because you’re after a list of cool cars, and that’s exactly what we have here for you, with 10 cool cars you can buy today if you have the means, and 10 cool cars from times gone by. Buso Renkin: Captain Bravo freely admits that his odd mannerisms and Large Ham public persona due to his belief that things are "cooler that way!"
