Tent Living Area The Coleman Lakeside 4 is very similar in layout but in the cabin style of tent. It doesn't have the porch and extension options.

The Coleman Coastline 4 is a great 4-person tent with a generous storage/porch area. It is ideal for festivals, or for families regularly going from place to place who need to store a large amount of equipment and pitch with minimal hassle. Spot the semi-circular opening close to the ground in the picture. That's an air vent that can be opened, enabling good airflow through the tent and out through the vents above the bedroom area. (It comes with a bug screen built-in). However, I would say this - the instructions are not clear on the tent about how to erect it, but it's such a basic setup you would struggle to find somebody unable to work it out. To be honest, this configuration has proved difficult to put up when windy (mind you, most things are when windy), however it provides an excellent shelter: Plenty of space in the bedroom for a large double airbed with space all around. Bedrooms can be divided though this would makes things a lot more cramped. A roomy porch for cooking and storage. (based on 2 people sharing) and we were able to sit and read/play cards/eat inside without feeling cramped. The real bonus is the height. Being 6ft2 myself there is loads of headroom throughout. Only negative is the front door. There are two zips down each side but nothing to seal along the bottom. So it flapped around and let in draughts when we were inside. Had to put in pegs to secure it, not really ideal doing this from the inside. We have used the larger Coleman Coastline 6 Deluxe for a number of years, and the additional bedroom that provides is not that practical. However, the living area is great, accommodating both the bags, kitchen, cupboards, toys, and all the other stuff family camping brings.

If you want something with a larger living area, then have a look at the Coleman Fremont 4, which has a completely enclosed porch extension that zips onto the tent. More InformationNo drafts, leaks or condensation problems. There is only 1 zip for electricity cables which could be a pain if your cable wont stretch to that side of the tent, there are air flaps on all 4 corners and a zipped area at the bottom which you can buy a fan to fit in to create extra air circulation. The gap at the front is necessary to let out condensation - otherwise you're going to wake up to the rainforest! It doesn't create a draft unless you don't pin it down, or if you haven't done your guy ropes correctly on the doors We have since sold this to a very happy buyer in pristine condition and upgraded to a six man air tunnel tent. Main reason for selling was space; limited living area space esp with kids. Would also of liked the option of second entry door.
