About this deal

B.A. Paris was born in Surrey, England, in 1958 to a French mother and Irish father. She is the third of 6 children, including 4 brothers and a sister. After completing her education, she moved to France, where she worked as a trader in an international bank in Paris for several years. During this time, she met her husband, with whom she now has 5 daughters. They eventually left the world of finance to set up a language school together. There also seemed to be a lot of “telling” and not enough showing. I wanted to see more events unfold James Russo blames himself for being unable to save his mother years ago. Now he’s made it his life’s mission to help everyone he can. So when he catches a glimpse of his beautiful new neighbor crying through her bedroom window, he’s determined to be her refuge. Beautiful, emotional, and so steamy. James and Nix's story is haunting and unputdownable. FIVE STARS!!!" -Tia Louise, USA Today bestselling author

There are three Queens in my Emotional Romance castle, sitting on their thrones side by side in all their power and glory: Colleen Hoover, Brittainy C. Cherry and Kristen Granata.I will say the story seemed to lose steam in the final chapters and the ending was off the rails (in my opinion). Still enjoyed it immensely and I think fans of this author will too! What sealed the nail for me, however, was when the FMC informed the MMC of her suicide attempt and he flipped out on her and blamed her for her depression. He belittled her, called her weak and selfish. He told her she hadn’t tried hard enough, and that he can’t “be with someone like her.” Overall, I enjoyed the book and recommend it to readers of thrillers, mysteries and contemporary fiction. I also recommend the author's previous books The Breakdown and Behind Closed Doors.

This book is compulsive reading from start to finish. A perfectly crafted work of art, seamless and mesmerising. I envy those yet to read it for the pleasure they have in store’ Amanda Robson The possibility that Layla could be alive and nearby puts a huge strain on Ellen and Finns relationship. Ellen has been convinced for years that her sister must be dead, and Finn knows that she could be right. Will Phoenix fight for the life she never wanted, or will James lose the one he loves all over again? Please don't hate me. I have mad respect for B.A. Paris; I felt her debut novel Behind Closed Doors was a forerunner in the domestic abuse thriller genre and I think the quality of her writing is incredible. Unfortunately, this one was just too over the top for me. I was captivated from the beginning of this one, I couldn’t put it down. It was a one sitting kind of read! I found myseld relating to each character in one way or another. The mentions of mental illness’s are described so perfectly as well, it’s a true picture of what it’s like to deal with mental health issues.I… I don’t know. I understand this brings up a lot for you, and that’s why I wanted to talk to you about it.”

B.A. Paris delivers a clever and unique psychological thriller that surrounds Russian dolls. Yes... Russian dolls.. Surprisingly, I actually liked the concept of the dolls. It was different and something that I don't see all the time. The author didn't stump me on the twist... my detective skills don't ever let me down ;). A tasty, if not always tasteful, tale of supernatural mayhem that fans of King and Crichton alike will enjoy. In reading this book, I have lived the life of an addict – even the thought of taking a break from it caused me to shake uncontrollably. A totally addictive thriller. CW: mentions of depression, anxiety, cancer, parental death, disowning of children, mentions of suicide and self harm

Bring Me Back – HarperCollins Publishers UK

This book has a compelling premise and a strong start. I thought the first half was interesting enough even with some inconsistencies. I was still invested enough to keep reading to see how the story played out and I even had a theory about what was happening. Then I was confused and definitely unsure just like Blaine was I felt her emotions I rode the wave with her... But slowly and surely she made me smile and happy again (she would bloody want to) and now this story will definitely stay with me forever and has been added to MY BIG BOOk OF FAVORITESAfter surviving a suicide attempt, Phoenix Bridges has been given a second chance at life—one she isn’t sure what to do with. When she’s released from a psychiatric treatment center, she moves into her family’s old shore house in New Jersey to figure out how to start over. She expects the town to be desolate in the winter months. He said he saw her standing outside the cottage and that when he went to speak to her, she ran off” The twist that I found amazing was quite unrealistic. There was a lot in this book that wasn’t quite believable and I did have trouble reading it at my usual fast pace. Finn and Ellen are supposed to be in love but you can’t tell from him constantly leaving the house and barely spending time with her. Yes, this is part of the story, but it made me feel disconnected from the characters. There really wasn’t much depth to any of them. I was so close to marking this a dnf but I kept going even though I was struggling to want to read.
