The hero thinks of himself too highly, is always boasting about how he's THE shit, or how cool he is, how ruthless, controlling, how everyone and everything will bow down to the greatness that is his measly persona. I like reading about assholes, possessive and obsessive jerks, it's entertaining. But those traits have to come through actions and not words, or constant mental diarrhea. Otherwise it will come off as whiney and pathetic. He called her Little Lamb, but for me she's not even a lamb... well she might be a lamb if you compare it to Cole but among her friends she is the definite example of how wolf would be. Safety - this is fairly safe, in my opinion. The h wants H to kiss her in prologue but he shuts her down since she’s underage. 2 years later she walks in on her boyfriend banging another woman. It wasn’t serious between her and the boyfriend and she’s pissed but not hurt. She’s “done stuff” with the boyfriend but obviously still a virgin at that point. The age gap/dad’s best friend part here isn’t really much of a big deal. Her dad wasn’t super excited but he accepted the situation pretty easily. This book is deliciously dark with just a bit of taboo. I loved Fallon as a heroine. She’s tough, she has a fake persona that she puts on for the world at school, and she’s the perfect daughter of a mafioso. Cole is delightfully dark and disturbed, and he’s known for a while now that he plans to make Fallon his. This is a dad’s best friend romance, and he’s a little worried that his friendship with his best (and, well, only) friend will be damaged by the fact that he plans to marry his daughter asap.

The ending felt rushed and didn’t make a lot of sense. Again, maybe it will make more sense as the series continues, but as it was I felt like there was still a lot left to be said. EDIT 10/14/22- I changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 because I cannot get this book out of my mind. I need more recs like it omg. So good!!! Cole is OTT possessive and I reveled in how delicious it was throughout. Fallon has always been in love with her dad's best friend, Cole. On her 16th birthday she asked him to give her her first kiss but he said no. Two years later, Fallon is abruptly engaged in an arranged marriage to Cole's enemy. As soon as she turns 18, Cole goes after her with everything he has. I couldn’t put this one down! I was hooked from the opening paragraph and read it in one sitting. It was fast paced with plenty of sexy times and a suspenseful plot. Be aware of the TW because this is a dark romance! There’s Cole, the possessive, controlling, obsessive, touch her and I’ll take your life, the male protagonist.

This was a kinky, romantic, suspenseful book! Cole is sooo jealous/possessive over Fallon. She is his perfect counterpart. Regardless of their large age gap, they were made for each other. I’ll admit a lot of this is corny. Small town billionaires in a secret society that runs like a criminal organization. Members of the Savage Six are described repeatedly to be the most badass, unstoppable, powerful men to ever grace the earth. The story does more to generate interest in the rest of the characters and desperately makes me explore their own stories right away. I think I see where Tristan will end up if I read that scene correctly of course. The godawful cover! The guy on the cover looks like like an emo kid in HS, but he’s supposed to be a rugged 36 year old. One of my biggest pet peeves is when there’s a person on the cover but they don’t match the description of the characters. BTW... this book is kinda ended up in cliffhanger so I mean the real main villain/maybe we called it mastermind is still out there, well I get it since this will be a series.
