Creamy vanilla and rose. I hate a lot floral perfumes unless there's a sweet element or something else aside from just flowers. You can definitely smell the rose and violet but the vanilla off sets it so beautifully. It's very powdery but I love it. I can't stop smelling it. I can't say what the longevity and sillage is like yet as it's just got here but man, first impression is stunning. It's a bit medicinal at first, the oud, but I like that anyway, but when it dries down it much more soapy, vanilla ice cream and rose. I think it smells feminine on me but I suppose a confident man could pull this off. It definitely smells expensive! If you are looking for a more traditional and potent rose-oud combination, this might not be the right choice. If you enjoy a drier combination, run away from this.

Francis Kurkdjian is a legend and this is 2nd only to Baccarat Rouge 540 in my humble collection of what I consider to be masterpieces. We bought the 200ml for my father's 60th birthday...I had no idea perfume could smell like this. My father saw how in awe I was of this perfume and he generously gave me the massive decant gift that came along with the large bottle. I had never smelled, let alone owned or worn a fragrance like Oud Satin Mood before. I could not stop smelling my clothes from that night. It smelled like some sort of insanely rich and opulent turkish delight of roses, smooth resinous oud, and breathtaking vanilla. I wore it to work and people literally told me that my office and I smelled delicious! Within a month I got myself the 70mL bottle. Oud has always been one of those notes that offended me by just existing. Any and all perfumes that held this note were just “not it”. Trust me, I have tried, but it always reeked of a damp forest with elements of burnt branches. Same goes with the ‘rose’ note: offending. Old people wear rose perfumes, not a 30-something year old. For the people that don't get why some people get that baby wipes smell, get a small sample and smell it straight from the bottle and you might understand lol.It’s a complex fragrance, for sure. I’m loving it thus far. Having that said, my skin eats perfumes, so I have yet to see if the silage and longevity is as people indicate here, and whether or not the notes will remain present in their full glory. Special occasion only. Perfectly fitted outfit, not a single hair out of place, yet not over the top, this fragrance deserves a fit that compliments the effortless perfection it evokes, otherwise it will feel out of place. I can only hope that one day I shall become such a woman.

Edit to add after 10+ hours: its still there and the rose is now STRONG. I do not like this. There’s nothing left of the oud and other notes. Darn it. It started so good. :(

I enjoy the scent very much. It's sweet sugary, syrupy rose. You just can't stop inhaling the scent. I can visualize a soft, delicate satin just washed, ironed and perfumed. It really gives that feeling when you smell this. Only the fabric is delicate, though. Not the perfume!

Both has some hint of fruits as well and both are really vanilla. If you want to compare these to Initio's Atomic Rose TT has a coffee note and Atomic Rose is not so sweet, it's most unisex of these all and sometimes when I smell Atomic Rose I feel like it's Oud For Greatness added with rose. Good quality and long lasting scent. So coffee note you can find from this and Montale Cafe Intense (where the name is miss leading because the coffee note is weak) but I wouldn't compare these as a similar scents, there is too many separating things but if you just look the notes, those two look so similar. This is musk and amber based. I love this TT's Delox! This I definitely want a full bottle. Barakat Satin oud perfume has a blend of oriental and floral notes which leaves a long lasting smell. Barakkat lays on the skin like an amber floral and woody breeze. A poetic alchemy composed by fragrance world where the aerial notes of jasmine and the radiance of saffron carry mineral facets of ambergris and woody tones of a freshly cut cedar wood. A graphic and highly condensed signature. A fragrance for men and women. Barakat satin oud perfume has a blend of oriental and floral notes which leaves a long lasting smell.

MFK OSM: Again another rose-vanilla -scent (I like that combination, don't get me wrong). This is the strongest one of these all scents which you maybe should sample before your decision to buy FB. This scent is the beast and you definitely doesn't have to re-spray it during the day. This has all in the balance: vanilla, rose, oud and powdery accords. This I found out a little bit synthetic in the beginning and I was thinking this is not for me but this is really addicting scent. After few days I felt in love. Some people say that they find out oud too loud but I think it's really not. Anyway this whole scent is loud, in everything and this is in the same time the most unique I think. I will compare these few same kind of scents because I find it useful while trying to choose new scents for testing or even blind buys. Sometimes this is like Oud For Greatness added with rose and sometimes vanilla comes more through. Sometimes this even feels smoky but not in tobacco kind of way. I must confess that I didn't think it was possible to find a perfume that causes the same visceral reaction as when I walk past a pungent sewage drain, mushy roadkill a few days old, or a puddle of puke left by oblivious revelers during the hour of the wolf. Oud Satin Mood exceeded all expectations.
