About this deal

In LTE, you choose band 3 or b1 plus b8 and then switch to the car [edit by me, car is a mistranslation of "auto" which is also the polski word for car] and you have 5G N41 + LTE CA and it's ready. The Huawei B818-263 features dual-band Wi-Fi technology, enabling simultaneous connections on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. This enhances network stability and reduces interference for a more reliable and consistent wireless connection. Additionally, the router supports Wi-Fi 6, providing faster and more efficient wireless communication. Oh, for info, when creating the new APN profile, you can make the IP type field visible in the console using: Designed with a sleek and compact form factor, the Huawei B818-263 can be easily placed in any desired location without occupying much space. It is also equipped with built-in antennas for optimal signal reception and transmission.

Huawei 4G Router 3 Prime is a very fast LTE cat. 19 router. It can support up to 64 users at the same time, so it’s perfect for both home and office. Thanks to 4×4 MIMO technology that increases the throughput of your local network several times, you will get a fantastic speed of up to 1.6 Gbit/s. The device is equipped with 4 internal antennas that extend the data transmission range by 40% and guarantee you a strong and stable signal also in large, multi-level rooms. Maximum size for each attachment is 10MB (rar, jpg, zip, pdf, war, txt, docx, doc, png, mp3, mp4, xls, xlsx, gif, jpeg are supported).Although the Huawei B818 GigaCube Cat19 is the successor to the first generation GigaCube Huawei B528, the appearance of B818 looks more similar to the Huawei B618 Router. The Huawei B818 router is integrated with HiSilicon Balong V7R65 modem which supports LTE Cat19 with 256QAM, and up to 8 x 8 MIMO Antenna technology. As the sayings from Vodafone, the GigaCube Cat19 B818 supports speed up to 500Mbps, but theoretically with a suitably equipped LTE network, significantly higher speeds are possible.

The more painful bit was that I couldn't see any way of reverting the b818 to router mode without doing a factory reset, which makes experimentation a bit tedious! The UI talks cryptically about assigning a static IP to your computer to log in to the UI again, but this didn't work - I tried both 192.168.1.2/24 then trying to access the UI on 192.168.1.1 (my config) and 192.168.8.2/24 with access on 192.168.8.1 (factory config) but neither worked. (And the same approach had worked fine when doing the initial config of the ER-X, for example, so I know it's not me just being totally useless!) I'm on EE, with my nearest mast being B3 only, and using a Poynting XPOL-2 directional antenna. My experience so far is that the performance and stats of the b818 are very similar to the b618 when using external antenna, although it does seem to give slightly better signal stats than the older device if comparing the internal antenna. During the speed test I disconnected 2 small LTE antennas - the speed dropped drastically, after 2 seconds it increased, but it was already about 70% of the speed obtained with all 4 antennas. The Vodafone Gigacube CAT19 or Huawei B818 is worthwhile for anyone who would like to have a particularly good LTE modem and would like to spend a little more. Even the Huawei B818 can provide high LTE and WLAN speeds for daily use, but probably only for the fewest users. Currently, a cheaper device such as the Vodafone Gigacube CAT6 (Huawei B528) is quite sufficient. The other thing that appealed was that the b818 offers bridge mode. Switching to bridge mode worked OK with just my laptop connected, but I got very odd behaviour with my (shiny new) Ubiquiti ER-X connected - it kind of worked, but with random hangs and connection issues - but that could be down to me not having set the ER-X up properly. I've given up for the moment to avoid too much family anguish. The Huawei B818 is Huawei’s first stationary LTE router capable of achieving speeds well above 1 Gbps in the LTE network. The device is positioned as a successor to the Huawei B618 and offers not only a very similar design but also comparable good equipment. In my quest to upgrade the home network, I'm fine with buying a new Unifi switch, I have the 'business case' for more ports and PoE, so could easily match the U6-lite with a Switch-lite 16 port. Equally if there's some issue that requires a Unifi USG then I'm more than happy to add that too, I just cant see what would cause this issue? Obviously I can go round removing one HA device at a time and see if that does it, or conversely add them to the BT SH2 that is currently being used as the 'switch' for the B818 network, but that only has 4 ports so can't get all the devices on it. The unique HUAWEI B818 antenna provides high performance and helps in full coverage in many directions. And if the signal is too weak in your location, you can amplify it by adding two 3G/4G LTE external antennas. Produce a secure Wi-Fi hotspot connecting up to 64 devices with a powerful Wi-Fi coverage wherever you may be!Vodafone Gigacube CAT19 is a new 4G LTE WiFi router offered since March 2019. The device is manufactured by Huawei and the model name is B818-260. The B818 is by far the newest and fastest LTE router in the Huawei product range, with LTE Cat19 delivering speeds of up to 1.6 gigabits per second. Vodafone sells the router as a Gigacube CAT19 as the successor to the previous “small” Gigacube Huawei B528 and thus offers customers a very powerful alternative to choose from. HUAWEI B818 gives you uninterrupted Internet access thanks to the combination of a mobile network and an Ethernet connection. Get access to fast internet using Wi-Fi or a network cable. You can also create your own local network. With its sleek and modern design, the Huawei B818-263 router is not only functional but also aesthetically pleasing. It is compact in size, making it easy to place in any location. The most noticeable difference is that the Web UI of the b818 is much nicer, shows a few more stats, and finally shows Ethernet-connected devices in the DHCP table (the b618 only showed wi-fi connected devices which was useless to me as I use a mesh system rather than the built-in wi-fi).So I thought it was maybe the Voda router being a bit rubbish at playing man-in-the-middle (as this is 'up' the daisy chain between the B818 and GS108), and anything just needing the GS108 internal network seems fine. Swapping the antennas causes poor LTE signal parameters of 800MHz. (short antennas are for high bands) Huawei B818 was introduced two years ago but recently, Huawei supplied this new 4G wireless router to the market and some network providers. Huawei B818 4G router Prime has two variant models now: Huawei B818-260 and B818-263. The Huawei B818-263 is also named Huawei 4G Router 3 Prime.
