About this deal

You can have two atmospheric Directional Lights that receive sun disk representation in the atmosphere with sky color that depends on the sunlight and atmosphere properties. For outer space views, enable Per Pixel Atmosphere Transmittance to apply accurate planetary shadowing that also casts shadows on nearby celestial objects, such as a moon.

The Sky Atmosphere system is optimized for scenes that are on ground level. However, there is nothing preventing you from traveling from the ground to a high aerial view, or even outer space. While the transition through the atmosphere should be seamless—without a noticeable transition—from the look-up tables (LUTs) to per pixel tracing, you may sometimes experience a hitch or when this happens. Ctrl + L + Shift with mouse movement will adjust the Directional Light set to index 1. Typically this would be the Moon. The tracing quality of the atmosphere is scalable using the Sky Atmosphere component's Trace Sample Count Scale property. This property is important when generating LUTS, or when using per pixel tracing. The maximum number of samples is clamped but can be increased by using the console command r.SkyAtmosphere.SampleCountMax. Also, keep in mind that the number of samples only reach the specified kilometers set by r.SkyAtmosphere.DistanceToSamplesCountMax. The Hemisphere View shows a visual representation of your atmosphere, taking into account Rayleigh and Mie scattering along with Absorption.

Enable Cast Shadow on Atmosphere to cast shadows from opaque objects. Also, enable Cast Cloud Shadows to enable shadow casting from cloud materials when using the Volumetric Cloud system.
