About this deal

For the past few years, the 290mm-class of CPU coolers have been the go-to for PC builders. Why? Because the size of the radiator is the only thing that limits performance on most mainstream gaming systems. The AIO market, on the other hand, is for all intents and purposes the same as the AIO market for all other components, where the choice of AIO between CPU coolers is largely based on the size of the radiator. A 280mm CPU cooler is the new standard for most AIO CPU coolers, and the reason for the rise in popularity is the increased size of the radiator.. Read more about best 360mm aio and let us know what you think. Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280 with rad in roof = Hovers around 97°C and hits Tj Max now and then on cores 2 and 4 (my worst cores)

It outperformed the Kraken X62 and its Corsair counterpart, the H115 RGB Pro XT, in our test. The Elite Capellix dominated the competition and produced the best cooling figures in every test iteration, despite the fact that all of these coolers were within 5°C of one another.

Roundup of the Best 280mm AIO CPU Coolers in 2021

It’s also a quiet performer, with some of the class’s finest acoustic metrics. This is the cooler to choose if you want your AIO to be visible but not heard. Given its reduced price point, it’s also a steal. While there are superior cooling options available, the ML280 Mirror provides the same mirror-top pump head as the Krakens at a lower cost. The DeepCool Castle 280EX should be easy to set up. You’ll need a screwdriver to secure the pump, but other than that, there shouldn’t be any issues. You will have no trouble installing this cooler, even if you are a beginner builder. On the plus side, The Freezer II is built with high-quality and durable components, ensuring that this cooler will endure a long time. To avoid kinking and leaking, the copper cooling plate is machined smooth, and the hoses are strengthened and coated. The pump head is extremely sturdy, and it even has a tiny cooling fan, which testifies to the performance goals of this AIO cooler.

Corsair has long been an industry leader in AIO coolers, with stunning designs and high performance. The Corsair iCUE H115i Elite Capellix is a strong addition in the Corsair brand that adds stunning RGB technology to their highly-decorated Platinum series. Liquid cooling is rapidly gaining popularity as a PC cooling technique. It’s more efficient than air cooling, allowing PC designers to go larger in search of greater power. The hardware is easy to use, there is a freaking VRM cooler, which isn't some gross addition, and something we may have poked fun at near the beginning of the review, but also reminds us of older HIS graphics card coolers. One thing we cannot take from ARCTIC is that they not only surprised us with this cooler, but the Liquid Freezer II 280 has also genuinely impressed us! Radiator: 315 x 143 x 30mm / 12.4 x 5.6 x 1.2” | Fans: 140 x 140 x 26mm / 5.5 x 5.5 x 1” | Fan Speed: 500 – 1800 RPM (PWM) | Noise Volume: 21 – 38dBA | Warranty: 6 years Another feature that this cooler has in common with its 240mm counterpart is its ease of installation. It’s easy to install and bolt the cooler into place, as it is with most AIO coolers. However, due to the reduced length of its hoses, some minor installation problems may arise, making certain orientations within your tower unfeasible. The Corsair iCUE H115i RGB Pro XT is the latest addition to Corsair’s long and illustrious series of AIO coolers. The iCUE H115i Elite Capellix and this cooler have a lot in common, however there are some significant variances. The most reliable AIO cooler is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO.”}}]} Frequently Asked Questions What is the best AIO cooler 2021? It’s obvious that the NZXT Kraken Z63 is a stunning cooler with outstanding performance. The LED pump head is considerably more costly than comparable alternatives, but the added value it provides is well worth the additional cost. While the Kraken X63 has a lot to offer, its performance pales in comparison to comparable high-end 280mm AIO coolers. In a test on an Intel I9, it was slightly outperformed by the Corsair iCUE H115i Elite Capellix, but it still managed to cool the system to 10°C above ambient at idle and 36°C under load.

The VRM fan clearly does something, and temperature improvements will follow the more even FPM on either side of the VRM heatsink, but we also want to be clear that a top-mounted radiator would also benefit the VRM. This is something we simulate in our test setup. VRM Thermals The Castle 280EX is as remarkable acoustically. It’s somewhat outperformed by the ARCTIC, but it’s one of the quietest 280mm AIO coolers on the market. The rubber fan housing undoubtedly contributes to the low noise levels.

In other testing, the Liquid Freezer II outperformed competitors such as the DeepCool Castle 280EX, another 280mm cooler renowned for its high performance. There definitely aren’t any better 280mm AIO coolers out there when it comes to cooling and noise dampening. as i wasnt happy with it but this meant i had to also replace my Thermaltake Core V21 Case as it was mATX

Time to move to VRM thermals. Before putting this chart up, a few important points: First, this is all relative, so our measurement points aren’t designed to test the motherboard, but rather to test the cooling capabilities of the CPU cooler on top of it. We’re taking VRM measurements at points that will work better for testing cooler impact, since we don’t care about comparative VRM performance from one board to the next. Second, we’ll show the numbers with the radiator mounted to the side of the bench. That’s how we tested all the liquid coolers so far, as it is more similar to a top-mounted radiator in a case. This means there’s always airflow over the VRM heatsink in all the CLC tests, whereas testing it on the table, away from the VRM, would paint a picture of Arctic’s VRM fan having a higher relative impact since you’d be taking away all cooling otherwise. We have these numbers too, but let’s focus on 3950X OC numbers at 35dBA radiator fan speed first, with the Arctic VRM fan at 100%. The test is also tough to standardize since every motherboard will have different heatsinks and positioning, so although you can mostly extrapolate out a hierarchy, it’s not perfectly comparable to every configuration. And again, please also remember that case configuration is the single most impacting to VRM thermal performance outside of the VRM design and cooling solution. What we’re saying is that this test will create an objective hierarchy, but that in all reality, a couple degrees here-and-there from the cooler won’t really matter much when considering the VRM is unlikely to melt itself in the majority of instances. While the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML280 Mirror isn’t the most durable cooler on the market, its infinity mirror pump head and RGB implementation make it one of the most attractive. The Micro Skived Fin copper cold plate takes all of the heat from the CPU, and with the flow of the pump, it sends it to the radiator via 450mm of tube. The tube is 12.4mm outer diameter and 6mm diameter inside, as well as being sleeved in a gray braid with a white twist added. Dimensionally, the head unit, thinking of it installed on a motherboard, sits 98mm tall, 78mm wide, but stands just 53mm tall, not including the fittings. DeepCool’s newest 280mm product, the DeepCool Castle 280EX, continues the company’s foray into the AIO cooler industry.
