About this deal

In " Dad's Dungeon," it is revealed that Finn cries rarely; only in devastating situations, such as death or heartbreak (or when he poops as revealed by Jake in Memories of Boom Boom Mountain). Finn and Jake appeared four times on the series MAD. See References in other media for a detailed description. Finn is also friends with BMO (pronounced Beemo), a sentient handheld game console who is Finn and Jake's roommate. Finn creates the robot Neptr (Never Ending Pie Throwing Robot) as part of a prank, but NEPTR soon becomes a friend to him. Finn ends up developing a close friendship with Marceline the Vampire Queen ( Olivia Olson), despite her initial role as an antagonist. Finn appears as a playable icon in Geometry Dash (2.1 Update) You can also color him to look like Finn. During the first five seasons, every alternate-reality, past-life, dream, and future version of Finn—with the exception of Fionna—is shown to have no right arm, or have an artificial right arm. These would include Shoko, Farmworld Finn, and the older Finns in " Mortal Folly", " Puhoy", and " Dungeon Train".

At the beginning of the series, Finn's voice is more high pitched, but later near the latest episodes, Finn's voice is a bit deeper from puberty. This contradicts with " Min and Marty," where he is revealed to already have the name 'Finn' before being separated from his parents. In the same episode, it is shown that when Finn drifts alone in the raft, there is also a stuffed bear having his name tag on it along with him. In " Obsidian", he appears in his mid to late 20s as an adult and has a full-grown beard, along with a tattoo of Jake on his chest, implying that his adoptive brother may have died by this time. He also has more battle scratches. Finn appears to not care for his hair much whatsoever, showed in how he frequently cuts it completely bald when asked (such as in " To Cut a Woman's Hair"), and in " Davey" when he shaves and slathers his hair in molasses, while BMO cries and claims Finn's "beauty is destroyed" and then says he looks like "the devil!" The episode starts off with Finn and Jake running through the candy forest to find the swimming hole Jake mentioned to Finn. Jake says that they should race to the swimming hole, then Finn argues that Jake is cheating because he has to take his clothes off, and reveal his red-and-white underwear. Jake trips and falls and Finn catches up, in just his underpants, and throws his clothes to the ground and throws his hat near a flower. Finn and Jake then jump into the pond to swim. While they are swimming, the flower touches Finn's hat, and shines a bright light inside it. Finn and Jake start swimming in circles to create a swirl.

In " Conquest of Cuteness," Finn was shown to have a crossbow. He uses a different one in " The New Frontier," although it appears he is less proficient with it than with a sword. Bad Little Boy," " The Prince Who Wanted Everything," " Princess Day," " Evergreen," " The Diary," " Friends Forever," " Be Sweet," " Orgalorg," " Varmints," " Cherry Cream Soda," " Broke His Crown," " Lady Rainicorn of the Crystal Dimension," " Five Short Tables," " Daddy-Daughter Card Wars," and " Ring of Fire" are the only episodes where Finn did not make an appearance. In Issue 9, it is revealed that Finn had been called "Pen" in the original short because of his love for pens. Although originally, he was most likely named after the creator of Adventure Time, Pendleton Ward. A future Finn then takes his red sleeping bag when he and Jake leave to help Lady Rainicorn, also leaving a note of advice telling Finn to use his real name. This, however, is most likely non-canon. By the time period of " Together Again", many decades after the main series, Finn has become an elderly man with a long white beard. At this age, Finn dies presumably of old age, and he transcends into the 37th Dead World. A child in a Finn costume appeared in the Halloween episode of South Park "Nightmare on Face Time."

According to The Adventure Time Encyclopædia, Finn got his name from Joshua and Margaret as they initially believed that he was a Mudfish as they knew very little about humans. In " Preboot" it is revealed by the "human plus" Dr. Gross that are more humans outside of Ooo. This is further explained in the miniseries Islands, where it is revealed that roughly a thousand years prior to the main events of the series, a group of surviving humans from the Mushroom War fled Ooo on a container ship (as seen in Stakes) to escape from the vampires, oozers, and a comet. They eventually settled on a secluded island chain far from the mainland. Over the next thousand years, their community thrived and developed into an advanced technological society. While it was a veritable utopia, there were those few who occasionally grew dissatisfied with their rigidly structured lives and attempted to flee the island; these "hiders" were, in turn, hunted down and returned by specially trained "seekers." Finn, Jake, Susan Strong, and BMO went to the islands so that Finn could find out about his past and his species. In the early version of "Daddy-Daughter Card Wars," he was initially going to appear at the beginning of the episode, but this was likely cut for time in the final version. [12]

Finn is shown to have an unrequited love for Princess Bubblegum throughout much of the series. He and Jake frequently have to rescue Princess Bubblegum from the obsessive Ice King. Finn's past life as Shoko, an orphaned thief who befriends and then betrays Princess Bubblegum, influences his present-day infatuation with Bubblegum. Finn's friendship with Bubblegum becomes more distant as the series progresses. As shown in " Memories of Boom Boom Mountain," the infant Finn eventually made it to Ooo, where he ended up alone in a forest. There, he went "boom boom" (Finn's word for defecation) on a large leaf and fell on it. He lay there crying until Jake's parents, Joshua and Margaret, rescued him from the wilderness and brought him to their home. They raised him alongside Jake, who, along with Jermaine, became Finn's adopted brother. In " Together Again", Elderly Finn appears as an old man with a long, white beard and wrinkly skin.

Finn is technically still the King of the Goblins; the goblins believe his scapegoat, Whisper Dan, to be him. In " Obsidian," he has become an adult man. His age is currently unknown, but it can be speculated that he's only a few years older, possibly in his 20's or early thirties as he is slightly taller, has grown a beard, and his hair color has slightly darkened becoming a dirty blonde from a golden/yellow blonde. Rand al' Thor is the main protagonist of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series. Finn's abandonment as an infant on a mountain to be raised by step-parents is similar to Rand's origin. Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Lady Rainicorn, Ice King, Stanley the watermelon, and the Reaper are characters in the game FusionFall, in which the player helps Finn save two princesses, get shirts from Stanley, and train with Finn in the petting zoo (Generator Rex). A crudely-drawn version of Finn was seen in the Battle for Dream Island episode "Don't Pierce My Flesh" as a recommended character. There is a secret GPS implanted on Finn's ear by Princess Bubblegum, as stated in " Lady & Peebles." In the then-popular Facebook game called "Pet Society," there was a Finn Costume labeled, "Odyssey Boy Costume." Finn and Jake bring Little Dude home with them, where he attempts to climb on BMO's head and turns all the food on their table into poo. Afterwards, the Magi comes to the Tree Fort, allowing Little Dude to escape to the Candy Kingdom. Finn, Jake, and the Magi follow him, where they find him possessing a Candy Person, who has been warped into a muscular figure by Little Dude. The Magi explains this by saying, "Whomever the hat possesses gains the proportional strength of a hat!" In " Obsidian" an adult version of Finn is seen from a few years after the end of the series and he is seen without any prosthesis.
