About this deal

Simple installation is key with Neo. neoStat has been designed to replace an existing three wire thermostat, and after joining the zone to the neoHub, remote control is possible. So, you will be able to see the same digital display (and controls) on the cell phone app as is displayed on the digital RV thermostat mounted on the wall; as well as see a graph of the 12 volt thermostat line voltage.

Example: If you theoretically calculate that your 12V device requires 15A of current (and account for 80% NEC rule), you theoretically use a 14 AWG wire with 20A ampacity. We have to be quite careful when sizing 12V wires. If we choose a wire with too low an ampacity, the circuit can go up in flames (as well as the battery). circuit is a low-voltage electric circuit. It’s primarily used in most batteries. To produce larger amounts of electric power (wattage), we usually need quite a lot of amps. That means we need relatively big 12V cable sizes. Practically, however, you have a 25 ft long wire. That will reduce the voltage from 12V to let’s say 8V, and you now require 22.5 amps to deliver the same amount of power (wattage). That also means that a 14 AWG wire will not be enough. Instead, you will have to use a 10 AWG wire with 35A ampacity. With an optional wireless sensor attached to the door or window of your RV, you can know if someone has opened the door while you’re away, or asleep. You can also set Alerts when these voltages go out of range, or even if shore power is lost. In that case, the voltage would drop to the battery-only voltage of about 12.6 volts for x minutes, meaning the charging system may be off (or power loss). Why not Upgrade to a Smart WiFi Thermostat for your RV? With this formula, we can calculate how many amps are likely to run in the 12V circuit. Example: If we want to run a 150W device, we will need I = 150W / 12V = 12.5 Amps. User Selectable Operating Mode: 1) Non Programmable 2) Weekday/Weekend 3) All days different. 4) All days the same The neoStat 12v v2 can be configured to work as a thermostat or as a timer- so if you want to take control of your towel rails, or lighting - Neo offers you this and more!

12V DC Thermostat Controller All-Purpose Digital Temperature

The neoStat is a 12v powered programmable thermostat with a volt free switch. The neoStat communicates to the neoHub and other neoStats within your home, to create a fully controllable network system of your home heating. Our 12v neoStat is compatible with the UH8-N Wiring centre. Statistically, you can save between 10% – 15% on your electric bill just by setting your thermostat while you are away. Thermostats regulate the temperature of liquid in a tank, or in conjuction with air conditioning units to monitor the air in a room or system. The thermostat simply switches the system off or on whenever necessary so that a constant temperature can be maintained. Capillary Thermostat Switches Since the Smart Thermostat has its own Cellular Connection, you will not need to rely on campground Wi-Fi, your mobile hotspot, or any other Wi-Fi in the area. You can use our example for a 150W 12V device. Slide the wattage slider to ‘150’ and you will get the calculated minimum required ampacity: 15.63A.If you have any Pets in your RV, you will surely want to know if something happens with the Heating or AC systems. See other ways for RV temperature monitoring. The neoStat communicates to the neoHub and other neoStats within your home, to create a fully controllable network system of your home heating. Our 12v neoStat is compatible with the UH8-N Wiring centre. It is also fully Programmable, similar to a Home thermostat where it can go On and Off at certain times of the day.

12V Programmable Thermostat - Electrical 4 Less

It’s well known, the largest energy-consuming devices in our Home and RV are the Heating and Air Conditioning Systems. Thermostat switches are used in temperature control systems to regulate air or liquids and can be used in both commercial and domestic applications. The two main types are capillary and bimetallic thermostats. Example: Let’s say we want to connect a 200W device to a 12V battery. That means we have to use a 12V wire size that can handle at least 16.67 amps (200W/12V = 16.67A). Accounting for the 80% NEC rule (we will explain this later on), you need a wire with at least 13.34A ampacity. In this case, we will need a 18 AWG wire size because it has a 14A ampacity. There’s nothing better than being able to turn on the Heat on those cold mornings without getting out of bed or maybe you want to cool down the RV before you arrive. Alerts Our goal is to provide one stop place for electricians and electrical contractors, but we are happy to help other clients too.

Thank you

Cable Size Calculator. This calculator estimates the minimum ampacity a wire should have. You just input the total wattage of the device you want to run on a 12V wire, and you will get the min. wire amps (accounted for the 80% NEC rule as well). Being a Smart Thermostat means it is has a digital display, and a digital thermostat lets you set and view precise temperatures, in fractions or decimals vs analog thermostats. From this chart, we see that 18 AWG wire has an ampacity of 14A (copper wire, at average 75°C). This wire is too small in our case; if you choose the 18 AWG wire, you will likely fry the circuit.
