About this deal

With the mics set at 90 degrees (can be twisted to 120 degrees for wider field) it gave great stereo imaging and a sense of space, albeit with an occasionally strange telescoping effect of far away things sounding near. Like the H4, you can record in different file formats, with a range of MP3 and WAV options, from the cruddiest, media-efficient MP3 to 24-bit, 96kHz WAVs. Usefully, you can record broadcast WAVs, with markers for use when navigating or editing audio files, or burning CDs. All this is recorded to SD card (a 1GB card is included). Four Play? Functioning as a 2-input/2-output USB audio interface for PC or Mac, the H4n Pro enables you to record directly to your computer. Never Miss a Take It comes with a protective plastic shell case, which is nicely sized to the device and not overly bulky.

OPERATION MANUAL - ZOOM

Really impressive sound results in terms of just how much detail, clarity, dynamic range and frequency range there is. Low bass, crisp lower-mids, smooth upper-mids and highs. For want of a better term, what you hear with your ears when recording is more or less what you get on this Zoom. That said, I think it'll take a lot of practice to get the field recordings I'm looking for. Monitoring audio levels from various miss as well as the ability to be used as an audio interface is a great tool. Need some recording device to connect to our Yamaha CL5. was easy configuration to connect and sound was perfectly recorded. There's plenty more on offer too, from compressors and low‑cut filters, to guitar amp and cabinet emulations (not the most authentic out there, but certainly passable for demo purposes), and distortion and delay‑based effects. The H4n Pro features high performance, low-noise mic preamps with recording resolutions up to 24-bit/96 kHz. The improved noise floor (-120 dBu EIN) captures audio at lower volumes with less noise and fewer artifacts. USB Audio Interface

Channel Mode: 4-Channel Mode records with the built-in X/Y mics and two external inputs to capture live room sound and a stereo board feed at the same time. The H4n Pro is capable of recording the loudest and heaviest performances, up to 140 dB SPL without distortion. Take a line-level* stereo feed from the mixing console and capture room ambience with the X/Y microphones. Pre-Record: Capture two seconds* of audio before you hit RECORD with the Pre-Record function and never miss the start of a great take. (*One second when recording at 96 kHz/sec or working 4CH mode.) The inability to customize file names is slightly frustrating and the load/start up time is also inconvenient, whilst the protective housing is useful for rugged conditions : ie dust/sandServices Guitar Workshop Electronic Repairs Workshop Music Store Events & Workshops Piano Showroom Music Lessons Recording Studio The controls of the Zoom H4N — particularly those on the side panels — are much more intuitive to use than those of its predecessor, the H4.

Zoom H4N PRO vs Zoom H5. Which is the Best? - BestAdvisor Zoom H4N PRO vs Zoom H5. Which is the Best? - BestAdvisor

I am really quite impressed with this little unit. Not only does it have a solid look/feel, the size is reasonable, and the resulting sound/recordings are well within my expectations. H5 is very handy and great quality. It comes with everything you need to start right out of the box, even batteries and an SD card. For so many years I was just using a long cable with a solo mic attached to my camera but with this one is just so much better to have it station closer to my subject and get better audio and then just sync it on post or record straight to the video. The unit comes with a good case to protect it when shoved in my bag with all the other things I need for my teaching day. The quality of the recorded sound is great for a piece of equipment this size. For me this has helped make live recordings a real easy job.

Speaking of SD cards, one of my least favorite things is waiting for my Zoom H5 to format a partially full SD card. Audio was super clear, the battery lasted for the entire session (better part of a day on and off), and it was super easy to carry around. Can't wait to try it out on some other projects. I’m employed as a full time brass teacher in the UK. I wanted to create good quality recordings for my pupils as in these Covid-19 times we are currently unable to blow in the same room as the pupils. The recordings produced are of excellent quality and the ability to add a touch of reverb to warm the sound enables me to produce good quality materials for the pupils regardless of the room I’m recording in. For example, I was once at a wedding setting up my H5 with an SD card that already had twelve gigabytes of video files written to it. No problem, right? I should have 20 odd more gigabytes of storage.
