About this deal
Hi just wanted to share my latest project with you. MQTT trv based on the very cheep non Bluetooth EQ3 trv. Zigbee2Tasmota (Z2T) is a lightweight Zigbee gateway/bridge solution running on ESP8266/ESP8285 or ESP32 Wi-Fi chips. Hence it is easier to deploy wherever you want in your home. It was inspired by Zigbee2MQTT but it was written from scratch to make it fit into the resource constraints of an ESP82xx chip with just 80kB of RAM and only 1MB of flash memory. Hello, I bought one of these last year and had the same issue as others here with the valve seeming to go open even when it was above the set temp. I gave up on it at the time but I have just updated to the latest Home Assistant and thought I would try it again, now it seems to be working fine! I bought a different, more basic, zigbee TRV from Tuya at the same time that doesn’t have any built in scheduling, this one has been running for at least a few months on the same set of batteries and works great.

If all of the TRV’s report their current temp as 19.5 or above, no need to call for heat at this time. I want a pretty basic system, but I’m getting my head in a muddle trying to work out the automations required. I am looking for the following: MQT : tele /% t opic%/SENSOR = { "ZbReceived" :{ "IKEA_Light" :{ "Device" : "0x5ADF" , "0004<03" : "8B6400" , "RemoveGroup" : 100 , "RemoveGroupStatus" : 139 , "RemoveGroupStatusMsg" : "NOT_FOUND" , "Endpoint" : 1 , "LinkQuality" : 80 }}} Remove all groups ~ After reading about the Wiser integration the awesome guys published on https://github.com/asantaga/wiserHomeAssistantPlatform
Adding to Home Assistant
At 21:30, set all TRV’s to a temp of 17 which will also turn off the boiler via the Hive thermostat (set to something like 15 to force it) system_mode: Mode of this device. To control publish a message to topic zigbee2mqtt/FRIENDLY_NAME/set with payload {"system_mode": VALUE} where VALUE is one of: heat. Reading ( /get) this attribute is not possible. You can dynamically load new files with ZbLoad

Whether or not it then ‘works’ depends on whether or not the TRV conforms to the zigbee spec properly. Even if it does not, there are converters (Z2M) or Quirks (ZHA) that can be used to make the device work. cluster>/
