About this deal

On New York's Upper West Side, a recluse is found murdered in his penthouse apartment, alongside two objects of note: a stolen Vermeer painting and a leather suitcase bearing the initials WHL3. For the first time in years, the authorities have a lead not only on Patricia's kidnapping but also on another FBI cold case - with the suitcase and painting both pointing them towards one man. He continued writing the Myron Bolitar series until Tell No One, which was the first standalone thriller novel written after many years. It was published in 2001. Myron is a great agent that most clients love. He cares about them and helps them not only in work-related issues but also on a personal level when they need aid. These personal cases turn him into an accidental detective since there is a lot of investigative work he does in the books. Myron Bolitar is one of the most engaging heroes in mystery fiction. One False Move is a blast from start to finish. (Dennis Lehane)

I am currently reading ‘The boy from the woods’ however in the late 80’s whilst on holiday in New Zealand I was fortunate to read a book about a young boy found in the woods. I cannot recall the title but it was published by Hodder and Strouten, I wonder if that young boy is Wilde and if that book is available today. She finished studying law in New York University by taking in night classes and is made a partner in MB SportsReps in One False Move, the fifth book in the series.Book Review - Win - Harlan Coben". whatsbetterthanbooks.com. 16 March 2021 . Retrieved 17 June 2021. The talented Coben, who likes nothing more than to create mysterious outsiders, does so with great skill and panache The Times I am not a good sympathetic ear, but I try very hard to appear like one. I try to nod in all the right places. I try to look concerned and mortified. My resting face, if you will allow me to use that annoying colloquialism again, is either disinterested or haughty. I struggle thus to engage and look caring. It takes some effort, but I believe that I’m pulling it off. p 44 Finally, his debut novel was greenlit by publishers when he was 26. It turned out to be a standalone psychological novel titled Play Dead, published in 1990. His second book, Miracle Cure, was also a standalone novel, and his third one became the first in the Myron Bolitar series, Deal Breaker. Have read 14 of Harlon’s books and enjoyed everyone so far. I like the Marlon Bolitar series best and hope there are many more in this series to follow, Reply

The series protagonist is a 31-year-old formerly renowned basketball player and is the owner of MB SportsReps (or simply MB Reps in later books), an agency representing sports stars and celebrities. Bolitar is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and considered handsome by many people.

There’s even more to watch.

Bolitar's longest known relationship was with Jessica Culver, until she dumped him and walked out of his life. The novel Deal Breaker brings the ex-lovers face-to-face after not seeing each other for four years. It is clear in the book's storyline that he still harbors feelings for Jessica, to the disgust of Esperanza, who dislikes Jessica for the way she treats Myron. They start seeing each other but break up again in the novel One False Move, when Myron almost cheats on her with Brenda Slaughter. It is also revealed in the novel that Culver had cheated on Myron with Doug. Jessica marries Stone Norman in Promise Me. Because Win is our narrator, the thoughts, the words and the phrasing readers are offered are all his and he’s a witty, warm and honest host. He’s certainly one of my favourite characters—offering delicious thoughts and observations—I’ve met for some time.

I only have one book left in the Bolitar series. I so look forward to this series and I hate that it must have ended. Please continue to write about Bolitar and his book mates. Each one is so interesting and fun fun fun. Reply I morning I happened to be watching one of the early TV talk shows and he was being interviewed by a well known female cast member. She was extolling how excited she was after reading the opening paragraph to his new book, ” Tell No One”. For his books, Harlan Coben received several awards over the years and was nominated for several ones as well. The two cases have baffled the FBI for decades. But Win has three things the FBI does not:: a personal connection to the case, a large fortune, and his own unique brand of justice ... If Win is as addictively irreverent as he is here in the Myron Bolitar series, I’m going to have to go and read them all. He’s astoundingly haughty and so, so wonderful. And that excites me because I really loved this book. I adored Win. I adored Coben’s conversational style of writing. It felt like he was writing in second person, as if Win was telling ‘us’ his story. It was engaging and funny and Win, as a narrator, is unabashedly arrogant and elitist. If the plot had been a little less coincidental / contrived this might have been a five star read for me, but instead Mr Coben will have to settle for 4.5 stars. He comes from Jewish origins, and during his young years, he lived with his parents in the basement of his childhood home until the age of 34. He was always close to both his parents. Once they moved to South, Myron bought their house. It also means the motivation for the murder is murky and the suspects many. It could be family members of those killed fifty years earlier seeking revenge; it could could linked to the theft of the paintings; OR related to the murder of Patricia’s father and her kidnapping.

As you'd expect from Coben, this is a complex thriller that keeps you hooked with the superb writing, handbrake turns and satisfying conclusion Heat Pierleoni, Allen (April 1, 2009). "Harlan Coben's fictional alter ego, Myron Bolitar, gets the adventure — but Coben got the girl". PopMatters. McClatchy Newspapers . Retrieved November 24, 2014. Harlan Coben was born in 1962, in Newark, New Jersey. Like Myron Bolitar, Harlan was also born into a Jewish family. He grew up in Livingston, where he attended Livingston High School. He went on to study political science at Amherst College, where he became a member of the Psi Upsilon fraternity, along with the writer Dan Brown. Harlan Coben is an American bestselling thriller author born to a Jewish family in Newark, New Jersey, on January 4, 1962. Harlan attended Amherst College and majored in political science. The Myron Bolitar series of thrillers are written by Harlan Coben with a series protagonist of the same name. Esperanza Diaz is a fictional character in thrillers such as Drop Shot, Deal Breakerand Promise Me written by Harlan Coben. It's got] everything you want from a Harlan Coben book. It's got violent time, it's got sexy time, it's got a twisty turny plot. It's great, it's fantastic Graham Norton Any issues with the book list you are seeing? Or is there an author or series we don’t have? Let me know! I read [Harlan Coben’s] new book RUN AWAY straight through without moving. It’s RIVETING. (Ann Patchett)
