Eaton, S. S., More, K. M., Sawant, B. M. & Eaton, G. R. J. Use of the ESR half-field transition to determine the interspin distance and the orientation of the interspin vector in systems with two unpaired electrons. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 105, 6560–6567 (1983). Also, many things were left unanswered. What happened to Pretha? Will Brie's sister turn into a fae? How is the dynamic between Finn and Brie now that they are bonded? How did Sebastian manage to run a court as a human? And Misha? I think we all want answers to those questions, but it is what it is. Kang, HW., Liu, YC., Shao, WK. et al. Synthesis, structural analysis, and properties of highly twisted alkenes 13,13’-bis(dibenzo[ a, i]fluorenylidene) and its derivatives. This. Book. I loved These Hollow Vows and it ended up as one of my favourite books of 2021, and I had high expectations for the sequel. Those expectations were more than met by These Twisted Bonds. Barclay, T. M. et al. The heterocyclic diradical benzo-1,2:4,5-bis(1,3,2-dithiazolyl). electronic, molecular and solid state structure. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 119, 2633–2641 (1997).

All of the DFT calculations werecalculated using the B3LYP functional 50 with the addition of D3 dispersion correction 51unless stated otherwise. The double-z quality 6-31 G** basis set 52 was chosen for geometry optimization and thermodynamic correction (ZPE, H vib, H trans, H rot), while the triple-z quality 6-311 + + G** basis set was used for obtaining more accurate electronic energies (E elec). The reported energies are enthalpies, which were calculated based on the following equation:Since I disliked this book passionately, I shall describe in excruciating detail how many things this book did right.

Let's be honest, Misha is that comfort character everyone likes. And I'm not complaining at all. He was interesting and I would love to read a book exclusively about him and his situation with Amira. The book also ends with a couple of loose threads. So as to not give too much away, I will just note that it would have been nice to know what Finn’s father said and whether one of the characters ends up becoming immortal. Wu, J. I.-C. & Schleyer, von Ragué P. Hyperconjugation in hydrocarbons: Not just a “mild sort of conjugation”. Pure Appl. Chem. 85, 921–940 (2013). I was a huge fan of These Hollow Vows when I recieved an ARC last year, and was highly anticipating the sequel. As soon as it landed on my Netgalley shelf I knew I had to stop reading everything else to make room. I was not disappointed at all. I absolutely loved the way the story flowed from the previous book, and the character development throughout just kept me enthralled. Although there were less plot twists in this book than the previous, I didn't anticipate any of them this time around.

There’s just something fun about a love triangle when I’m in the mood for the drama and heartache of it. The author wrote this love triangle very well and clearly showed Brie’s emotional turmoil. The pacing is a bit odd at times, and the writing isn’t consistently great. However, I couldn’t stop reading once the reveals started. The ending was sweet—if a bit cheesy and convenient—and gave me the romantic conclusion I hoped for Brie. My wings are broken. I cannot be a bird. A bird is too kind and powerful, I’m weak. I’m the soil beneath the feet that trample my very being.” The chemistry and spice in this book is a bit too hot to be YA. The first book had a couple of fun make out scenes, but this one is definitely more detailed. I was pleasantly surprised, so I thought I'd mention it. The world building captivated me more in this book - learning about the history and legends. The plot was well developed, and we had some mild spice thrown in too! Brie spends time in the Wild Lands at the beginning of the book, and I loved how it allowed us to see more of Faerie. One small complaint that I had about the first book was how the world-building was a little basic. In this book, they travel more, so we can see the Wild Lands, the Unseelie court and lands, and even a hidden and dangerous realm. There is still a good amount of magic and dangerous creatures, and I could definitely feel the “Faerie” vibe more in this sequel.

Qi, F. et al. Photodissociation of ethylene sulfide at 193 nm: a photofragment translational spectroscopy study with VUV synchrotron radiation and ab initio calculations. J. Am. Chem. Soc. 123, 148–161 (2001). I don't understand how this was so long but basically nothing happens. I don’t know why I was expecting this to be any different. Sooo much dialogue. 😫 To this time of the day, I am confused and since I read just to read and not to really catalog anything or even understand, I don’t really care. I really did try to like her, I really did. I saw this book as more of a funny in between story because if I had delved into thinking this book actually meant to be SERIOUS? I would’ve been heartbroken- more so than I currently am.

Nino swiped his thumb over my pulse point. “Life doesn’t work like that. Bad things are not fate, or punishment of an almighty power. Sometimes bad things just happen.” After Abriella’s sister was sold to the fae, she thought life couldn’t get any worse. But when she suddenly finds herself caught in a web of lies of her own making - loving two princes and trusting neither – things are not quite as clear as she once thought. First of all, thank you so, so much to Netgalley for an eArc of These Twisted Bonds, which was one of my most anticipated reads of this year! To be honest, I'm really surprised at how much I enjoyed the story. Reading the first book, even though I liked it, a lot of things fell short and I would've left it at that if it wasn't for the ending, which had me really looking forward to reading the sequel. I mean, I needed to see where everything was going to go. Thank the universe for that!
