You might notice that there are a few things missing from the exterior of the device. There are no physical controls for screen brightness or volume control, though a combination of keys can adjust those while you are in the operating system, while you can change the volume in-game from a firmware menu. There’s also only one set of shoulder buttons, which is a tough sell on a device that claims to support PS1 games. Playing with Power Turn off the machine, insert the newly created rescue card, turn on the machine, wait for the blue LED to start flashing, and wait until the blue light stops flashing, and the machine is completed Copy the firmware zip file to SD card (by USB SD card reader), mount into Game device, turn on power. We expect that the internals will be nearly identical to the Trimui Smart device that recently came out… just in a totally different form factor and a much better screen. Simple to install, just extract the zip file as instructed and copy everything to your sdcard, overwriting whatever is needed. GameBoy, GameBoy Color, and NES games all seemed to run perfectly on the machine, and every SNES or GBA game I tried was totally playable with just a few trade-offs. On the GameBoy Advance side of things, I found screen tearing and audio hiccups, but it was never consistent. We’re talking about an issue every minute or so of play, which in the grand scheme of things is almost nothing. Please make sure you have the corect bios files in place for systems to work. Please place your bios files in SDcard/BiosOutside of the inputs, the device has a 2.4” screen, a power switch, a USB-C charging port, and a slot for an SD card where you’ll need to put your ROMs. Most people will compare this with the Miyoo Mini. Whilst the Miyoo was vertical, the SMART is horizontal in design. It was also a great quality product. Notice that game cores crashing will make layer confuse for old MainUI, you have to use new v0.116 MainUI to recovery. Or use the little binary to recover in RetroArch folder. Notice the screenshot is broken when you use the layers, you can switch to SDL version. Specs-wise, the TRIMUI SMART is able to play entry-level retro games. As I mentioned before, up to PS1 is possible, though don’t expect massively demanding games from that era to play well. However, the PS1 games that came included (14 in total) played very well indeed. The likes of Sega and Nintendo Systems, as well as PC Engine games, all played as expected. So, it's basically a cheaper RG300. Disappointing indeed, and the Miyoo Mini still looks better to me.

So overall, I was very impressed with the TRIMUI SMART. It’s well made, very portable and easy to use. Image quality was bright, clear and ideal for this size of device. The number of games included gave me plenty of choice and had some of the best and most popular arcade games available. Even the GameBoys before the Advance ran at 160×144, so even that image can’t quite be doubled on the Trimui Smart’s screen. One of my favourite games is Advance Wars for the GBA, and I was so pleased to see it included in the playlist. Whilst the screen may only be 2.4 inches in size, the image quality was bright, and all of the text was clear. My main gripes would be that the screen is just too small for many people. My eyesight is OK so 2″ is just about acceptable, but even a 2.4″ screen would have been noticeably easier on the eyes. The device lasts about 3 hours on a charge, which is OK but shorter than we are used to. Just to correct you that eggs is not gameblabla, although he did use some of my forks and emulators (such as my fork of Temper and oswan) and he does sometime asks me questions about it but i have no direct involvement with it and would rather not touch this handheld given the poor specs. (the Bittboy and its F1C100S still gives me nightmares, the F1C200S is the same except for double the RAM)
Looking at the console itself, you get the typical A, B, X, Y buttons, D-pad and then along the bottom the Select, Menu and Start buttons. On the top edge, you get the left and right shoulder buttons. There is also a small speaker on the right, just below the face buttons, as well as a micro SD card slot, USB-C charging port and a very small On/Off switch. Reply On SNES, I ran into those same issues along with visual glitches that seemed to have to do with transparency and layering in the game. Think of a JRPG menu causing the whole screen to get random static on it when it opens up. Annoying, for sure, but it never made things unplayable and only happened in some games. The Firmware WrapperBut with a few concept images leaked over the holidays, it would seem that Trimui aims to go a bit larger with their next few consoles. Whilst the specs of the TRIMUI SMART may not be as powerful as the larger handhelds on the market, it’s not meant to be. Micro consoles are all about portability whilst still being able to play most games on platforms well up to PS1 (sorry guys, there are no PSP or N64 games here). This allows the SMART console to be an affordable option focusing more on portability. As per usual, we’re keeping an eye out. It’s still quite early on this one. But with the pace of things in 2022, it’s safe to say that things will go pretty wild in 2023.
