About this deal

I have gathered up a few issues of this magazine from the 1930s. They are fascinating to read and are filled with a variety of content including staff announcements, industry news, stories of interest and international articles and photographs.

Is there anyone in our network that has a copy of the EC-Type Certificate PTB 09 ATEX 1128X available to share with Texeco. https://www2.archivists.org/groups/business-archives-section/repository-profile-chevron-corporate-archive

The company returned to Grand Prix racing at a smaller scale in 1997, with their brands appearing on the Stewart SF01 car. Their association with the team and its successor, Jaguar Racing, continued until the end of 2001, in the same timeline they also sponsored ITV's Formula 1 Coverage. Another busy day for Texeco exploring R&D opportunities with Lauren Hazel Rankin and EEHA trainer Billy ( William Rankin). The Spindletop oil field in 1902. During this year, the Spindletop wells produced a staggering 17,500,000 barrels of oil. Steve is an avid collector of all types of gas memorabilia so when I mentioned that I was researching Power Chief, it didn’t surprise me when he quietly placed a booklet on my desk. The brand identifying logo was referred to as the ‘Texaco Star’. So it is understandable that the Texas Company chose to use this name for their first periodical.

Not Just Leads!

Bob kindly gave me over 20 issues of the Texaco Times magazine dating between 1934 and 1936. The covers were all exactly the same with the exception that the publishers began printing the date on the front covers from January 1935. While searching for more information on the Texaco radio show, I came across a YouTube account that has audio from one of the Fire Chief radio broadcasts in 1935. It is well worth listening to the following audio to get an appreciation of Ed Wynn’s style and humour. Tierney, Dominic (2007). "American Men, American Oil, American Arms". Texaco established its presence in the South Pacific in 1918 with the incorporation of the Texas Company (Australasia) Limited in New South Wales, Australia. Two years later, the oil company arrived on New Zealand shores. Chomsky, Noam (2001). Understanding Power. The New Press. p. 159, Chapter 5 footnotes 61–64. ISBN 978-1-5658-4703-3.
