About this deal

Now that Technics have returned, the main selling point of the 1000 over the SL1210 is fairly simple: it comes in at a lower price point. Other than that, the formula is familiar: it’s the same basic look and feel, very similar sound and solid, durable construction. A worthy alternative to the MK7. More info/Buy Pros

Notes:Latest version of the classic Technics DJ headphones, updating the classic RP-DJ1200 design, which sold more than half a million units in its lifetime. Solid stuff. Popular for a reason. In 1970, Technics commercialized the world's first direct-drive turntable, and the system took the world by storm. Unlike belt-drive and other systems, direct-drive systems rotate the motor at low speed and directly drive the platter, thus providing numerous advantages, such as the almost complete absence of degradation in S/N ratio due to motor vibration and deceleration mechanisms, as well as high reliability over a long period time because of not requiring parts replacement. The new standard model inheriting the technology of the SL-1200G, which was developed as a reference direct-drive turntable for the next generation. New-Standard EAH-DJ1200 DJ headphones with excellent functionality, furability, and DJ playing performance.

From the disco era to today’s super-clubs, the Technics SL1210 (and similar SL1200) has been and still is the heart of most professional DJs’ gigs. World renowned for its robust build quality, reliability and precise and stable sound, the SL1210 is a living legend. Now in MK7 form, it’s as capable as ever and great value for the engineering involved. The newly developed driver uses a 40mm-diameter CCAW voice coil. It achieves clear, detailed sound, and high-durability input (2,500 mW) with no distortion even at high volumes. Also, because the sound is well balanced from low to high ranges, DJ play in high-volume surroundings is not buried in noise and monitoring is comfortable. As we found in our review of the SL-1210 MK7, the new model lives up to the legacy of its much-loved predecessors. What more is there to say? It’s the definitive DJ turntable for a reason, and it’s still our favourite all-rounder. It’s not the cheapest model on the market and it’s easily beaten when it comes to features by models like the Reloop RP-8000, but it still sets the benchmark for solid build quality, reliability and feel. More info/Buy Pros It was the late 1979 when the MAGIC were created. No one in the hifi history has made better than Technics with this amazing turntable:without any doubts the sl 1210/1200 is the unsurpassed masterpiece of all time. And i know what i'm sayin':i'm not a dee j,but i'm a hifi listener as many other.I've listened many hifi equipment, but no one of them creates the MAGIC that the 1210 does.Direct drive has it's best, amazing look and sound, solid and indestructible sound machine. The best turntable of all time! Most users remove the rubber turntable mat and replace it with a slip-mat for mixing. However, without the rubber mat, the platter is prone to resonance at 250Hz when used near a large club sound system. Reloop’s beginner-friendly RP-2000 is a case in point, with a direct-drive motor and sturdy feel that belies its price point. Very much built in the mould of the classic SL1200 MK2, the RP-2000 is a bare-bones offering thatdoes everything well, with no frills and no fuss. More info/Buy Pros
