About this deal

Johnnie Walker Gold Label was relaunched in 2012. Built around a core of single malt whisky from Clynelish, the Gold Label Reserve is a great addit... PALATE: On the palate, the Johnnie Walker Swing is very smooth and quite oily. Spicy notes balance the sherry sweetness. There are notes of smoke and faint peat, probably from the Islay whiskies. There are some cereal flavours and oak. The spice is reminiscent of pepper with hints of ginger. The final Johnnie Walker whisky in the core range to carry an age statement is the 18 Year Old blend, the oldest of the age statement whiskies. The 18 Year Old was known as the Platinum Label from 2012 until before being re-branded in 2017. In a very fitting coincidence, there are up to 18 different whiskies included in this blend. So, Johnnie Walker Swing: it pours intense amber to orange with the trademark greenish strikes that I always find when beholding any Johnnie in direct light, from Red to Blue (not King George V, but that's no Johnnie, rather John.) The name of this exceptional Scotch Whisky comes from the 21 Gun Royal Salute, which is fired as a mark of respect for powerful dignitaries

Johnnie Walker — Old and Rare Whisky Johnnie Walker — Old and Rare Whisky

Johnnie Walker has been a household name of blended whisky for over 215 years but with such a varied and expansive history it is hard to know which is their best bottling. NOSE: The sherry cask sweetness comes through. There is also some mild smoke and spice. The nose has an old-world feel to it. Hints of dried fruits, tobacco and leather. Nosing this Johnnie Walker Swing, you can almost imagine the old leather couches in a gentleman’s club in London during the early 1900s.

JW Swing is sweet, smooth, with some honey and sherry accents. A great blended whisky, with good dram that I can safely recommend. Swing is presented in a uniquely shaped bottle that was designed to combat the problem of rough seas . Sustainability: 90% of the water used in The Chivas Brothers distilleries is returned to the source it came from as cooling water - therefore saving 9 billion litres saved every year This rich and complex whisky is aged for 21 years in oak casks before bottling in handcrafted porcelain flagons
