About this deal

Appearances: While the appearance of a bed might not matter much to your cat – it’s probably important to you. You’re going to need to display this bed in your house where people can typically see it. With that in mind, it’s worth choosing something you feel goes with your existing décor and sense of style. That’s what Mora offers and it’s a good option as a self-heated pad. There are several layers of special fabrics and materials to really get that self-heating effect from your cat’s own body temperature. It has a long pile and fluffy plush outer on one side and a smooth fleece on the other. Always buy from a brand that you trust, one that has a good reputation; don’t go with the cheapest bed just to save money as you'll lose more in the long-run anyway.

This is a very solid choice and would be perfect for putting inside a cat carrier to keep your cat toasty on a trip as well as using around your home. There are far too few self-warming dog beds available for big dogs and this is one of our favorites! Similar to a large “beanbag” bed, the whole bed conforms to your dog’s shape and is perfect for burrowers, cuddlers, and leaners. You will also want to be sure that your pet isn't going to chew through any wires if you were to choose a mains powered heating blanket, especially with teething puppies or kittens with sharp little teeth. The convenience of added warmth in cooler climates or simply during winter time without the need for dangerous power outlets and cords. A more stable body temperature for dogs that are recovering from being in a neglected physical condition and young pups.

Inside there’s a layer of foam and the all-important Mylar layer to reflect and retain heat. Note that you can hear a bit of rustling or crinkling from this inner foil layer when your cat settles on the mat.

They are often called loungers and mimic the basic silhouette of a sofa we all sit (or lie) on as humans. Perhaps that’s the appeal. But we don’t have to leave them just for dogs - cats can have them too. As their benefits become known and their popularity rises, there are now plenty of self-warming beds for dogs to choose from. One issue you may have is with the size. It’s supposed to be a tight-ish fit for your cat but large cats may not find it comfortable. The internal area is a modest 16 by 11 inches so make sure your cat will fit! The inside of the bed is made from Sherpa-like fleece and the exterior of the bed is a durable corduroy which we are particularly fond of. This bed also features in our roundup test of cat cave beds because it's been popular with our cats. Especially those that like to burrow into hidden spaces.

The raised sides are excellent for providing your cat with a great burrow to snuggle down in with an extra sense of protection and a place to rest its head. Do be aware, though, that the sides of this bed are totally unstructured so they will fold under any weight.
