About this deal

created by Samsung: a data-sheet is imported from an official source from a manufacturer. But the data-sheet is not yet standardized by an Icecat editor. Equally, a Blu-ray player connected to the screen was able to pass Dolby Atmos through to our Atmos soundbar, even though the soundbar wasn’t eARC enabled. The set takes Atmos in a True HD wrapper from the Blu-ray player, but passes it out over regular ARC as Dolby Digital Plus. Samsung TU8500 review: Design & usability If you don’t have a tonne of streaming service subscriptions, and an accompanying bank account littered with direct debits, then fear not. The Roku Channel is here to bring you a taste of premium content for free. It’s a – yes, we’re going to say it – smorgasbord of films and TV shows as well as over 30 Roku Originals too, many of which are well worth your time. There’s certainly a big enough performance gap for another TV to sit between the Hisense and the Samsung, and we’re pleased to report that the TCL 55RP620K fills it perfectly. to fanatical levels, gives punchy contrasts with clean, bright white tones and describes textures well.

The UE55D8000 3D LED TV is engineered with Samsungs latest groundbreaking technology to deliver the ultimate home viewing experience. The Ultra Clear Panel and micro dimming technology help reduce reflection and dramatically increase picture contrast, whilst the Wide colour enhancer + feature produces incredibly lifelike colours that are both vivid and natural. The UE55D8000′s 800Hz Clear Motion Rate processor guarantees you get the smoothest and clearest images possible – making it ideal for the sport enthusiasts. Experience explosive Full HD 3D imagery that literally jumps out from the screen and moves you in more ways than one. Add a new depth of realism to your 2D programmes and watch them in glorious 3D with UE55D8000′s advanced 2D to 3D conversion technology. With HD content in SDR, the TU8500’s image has a bright overall picture level, with a satisfying level of pop. It’s a great match for regular Blu-ray. Step it up with native 4K, and the screen snaps into clearer focus. Please note: Failure to produce the card and relevant ID means we are unable to release goods on collection. With so much to talk about regarding the 55D8000’s Smart Hub and, in a moment, 3D capabilities, we won’t go into as much detail as we normally might on the sort of picture fine-tuning adjustments the set carries. What we must say, though, is that despite the set not having ISF or THX endorsement, it’s certainly not short of tweaks and adjustments. Including such appreciated calibration aids as a 10-point white balance, a variety of gamma tools, and a colour management system. There’s a lot to like about the HD performance delivered by the Samsung UE55D8000. After calibration, we were very happy with the believability of the on-screen images. Thanks to the extensive Greyscale and Colour setup options available on the set, the image was free of unwanted colour tints (we especially appreciated being able to see dark scenes without the trademark “LCD blue glowing” contaminating shadowed areas). And, thanks to the SPVA panel’s excellent contrast performance, as well as the ruler-flat Gamma we achieved during calibration, pictures had a decent sense of realism – although the edges of the panel were brighter than the centre point which we measured (see the “Viewing Angle” section). Finally, motion settings fall under an option called Picture Clarity. Opt for custom and you can set the judder settings yourself. Something around 3 or 4 seemed to work best for most content we watched, and motion is, for the most part, admirably stable. Even SD terrestrial TV content looks decent. It’s a little soft on detail, as you’d expect, but even with the further noise that creeps in, it’s a solid picture with a good colour balance that’s wholly watchable. This is one of our favorite parts of the review as the design is very important for a television and a beautiful television can also make your room beautiful. Let’s consider the advantages of the Samsung UE55TU8000 design. First, the frame is very thin and when you place the TV on your wall there is no gap between the wall and the TV. Second, there is only one an almost invisible connection cable. Even if you mount your TV on the wall, the room doesn’t get messy. We give 4.5/5 points for the Samsung UE55TU8000 review part of the design. Samsung UE55TU8000 Price Most electric vehicles are automatic – but Toyota are looking to change that for a more classic feel We like the added whallop from Adaptive, which strikes a good balance of adding some weight to the low end without losing out on too much clarity through the midrange.

A good footrest is as important to comfort as the chair you sit in, and Secretlab’s Professional Footrest is ideal for home or office use But although the Samsung TU8000 TV might not be the best 8 Series TV you can buy, it's only a step down, sharing plenty of the TU8500’s boasts, but with a more attractive price tag. The features of the TCL 55RP620K are largely set by the Roku system and that’s no bad thing, as Roku is an excellent platform. Uses an anologue connetion which carries picture signals that have been split into colour and brightness. For an improved picture you may want to consider upgraging to HDMI connector which carries digital picture and sound signals. That said, the 55D8000 hasn’t got rid of crosstalk completely. There are still minor traces of it to be seen here and there – more, still, than we saw on Panasonic’s 2010 plasmas, in fact. But let’s be quite clear, here: the 55D8000 is definitely a true advance for the 3D cause, and sets the bar high for the rest of 2011’s TVs. The two most significant settings, though, are the Contrast Enhancer and Samsung’s Shadow Detail, the latter of which is new for 2020. Between these two, you can get an idea of just where the mid-range compromises lie in this reasonably priced TV.

2D Calibration

Last year, it’s fair to say that out of all the major manufacturers’ 3DTV efforts, we were most critical of Samsung’s. While none of the LCD-based 3D TVs really enthused us when it came to 3D (due to annoying crosstalk artefacts), Samsung’s offerings had two other issues that rival LCD TV makers managed to avoid. First, the tri-dimensional modes of the company’s 2010 3D-capable displays were obviously 60hz-centric, because any European-style 50hz video input to the TV showed obvious judder in its 3D display mode. Secondly, Samsung’s 2010 3D LCDs and Plasmas featured poor quality scaling with 3D signals. Scaling in 3D is required for any content that doesn’t deliver Full HD 1080p to each eye, meaning that 720p 3D and Side-by-Side 3D sources were affected. These two issues meant that it was difficult to recommend last Upgrade to the total 3D TV experience with the LED 8000, which synchronises the advanced 3D picture with latest in 3D Sound automatically through Samsung’s 3D Sound Effect. Driving this superior performance is Samsung’s innovative 3D HyperReal Engine, enhancing images and optimising performance for the most vibrant and crystal-clear full HD images. You’ll be simply dazzled by the Micro Dimming, which makes perfect the smallest picture details. And with new featherweight 3D glasses with ergonomic design a built-in real-time 3D converter, this LED Smart TV is ready to inject new life into both your 2D movies and your whole home entertainment experience. Motion is vexatious from any source though, each of the D8000’s settings establishing its own particular shortcoming even as it clears up that of the previous preset. And sound, unsurprisingly given the cabinet dimensions, is on the weedy side. We have now started delivering right to your door! Alternatively you can collect free of charge from one of our 7 branches (see steps below) As is usually the case with Samsung TVs, two remotes are included in the box — a chunkier standard-looking one and a more slender, simplified option. The latter has all the main features you’ll use most often, without the ones you won’t. This includes a ring-shaped D-pad, channel and volume controls, shortcuts to Netflix, Prime Video and Rakuten TV and buttons for activating Samsung’s Ambient Mode (more on that later), your voice assistant of choice and for general navigation.
