About this deal

Video Rigoletto - “La donna e mobile” Sung by one of the three Tenors, great song for high-performing male vocals. Pavarotti is the greatest classic singer maybe ever. Fight me! The Raptgo Hook-X has an unashamedly fun tuning. But thanks to its technical prowess, it has good resolution, a good soundstage, clarity and dynamics. It’s an IEM where the music comes first, in the form of its tonality and musical presentation. Note weight in the treble area has body to it. At least that’s what I hear. Cymbals crash and not splash. Granted cymbals also play a lot in the upper mids but the decaying crash is not tizzy, but more focused. Instruments in my library never sound harsh or peaky. The extension of the Highs rolls off on a pretty nice downward slope to capture most information well. Percussion and even strings residing in the upper areas sound as they should with enough vibrancy for me. All three also share a weak and bendy quality to the stem that prolonged swapping between the tips but would likely be less of a concern in the long term. This applies for most countries. However, large items such as headphones and desktop DAC/AMPs (e.g. HarmonicDyne G200, MUSICIAN MDP-2, and etc.) are excluded.

I would describe the outer shell of the Hook-X as a classy design. The shape of its housing isn’t really anything new, but that golden lining that surrounds its faceplate grille makes this a super stylish IEM. Its CNC aluminum makeup also helps with the earphone’s level of value and durability. As for comfort, the Hook-X is light, and always felt secure while sitting in my concha. For me, it seemed a perfect size and the wide selection of ear tips should definitely help achieve the best fit possible. Design Hook-X has a U-shaped sound signature. It’s on the warmer side of neutral, making it (at least for me) more emotionally engaging than something brighter and more analytical. The Hook X has a sound that’s warm enough to be comforting but clear and detailed enough to be exciting at the same time. Raptgo Hook-X frequency response. Bass But if there’s something left to be desired is the slight grainy property developed on whispery and soft notes. Each pair used in every set of Hook-X undergoes a complex assembly line, hand-tested, and matched. These are among my fav 2022 IEMs and deliver a very versatile tonality with impressive technical performance. Their holographic spatiality is sure to immerse you for long listening pleasure. Customers are to bear the consequences and fees incurred, if the parcel was undelivered due to any of the following situation: Not only violin sound marvelous, well resolve, and full-bodied but even the harp is properly presented, sure to achieve perfection I would have added a hint of brilliance and perhaps more boost past 10kz, but the notes well define, and pulling of strings have this clean snap and sense of openness permit long resonance enough, it's a realist and very musical, without overly boosted texture that would ruin the listen by adding an unwanted patch of string rubbing or vibration noise artifacts.

In terms of handling, the cable performs well. It’s fairly supple and has minimal microphonics. One of its most outstanding features though is its modular termination system. With this, you can easily switch between the 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.4mm terminations (all included in the box). Sound Boy what a set. The Hook seems to do everything very well. Obviously, you have to agree with this type of tuning to appreciate it. Also, it’s very obvious that the guy reviewing this set right now happens to agree with it. I like fun, I like a dynamic yet controlled sound, I like a more natural sound that isn’t veiled even in thee slightest. Also, I like to hear an iem which can play at a rapid-fire pace, or just as easily slow down and capture the soft mood in a moment. Timbre, tonality, musicality, dynamics, staging and resolution are all qualities which the Hook-X performs well in. Not to mention it’s nice to look at and built seemingly very well. Living in Glasgow, Scotland but born and raised near Milan, Italy, I got the passion for music listening as a legacy from my father and my grandfather. While the mids are full of detail with excellent spacing, they’re warm enough to be engaging too. The ultimate test for me is the connection I feel to the music and with Hook-X I’m consistently singing along and strapped in for the emotional rollercoaster ride. Listening to Dimash Kudaibergen’s “Sinful Passion”, the vocals are full of sentiment and the cello is textured but at the same time oozes with an enchanting richness. I’m still new to IEMs so I don’t know how to explain my senses, but they are so clear, I can hear every step the enemy takes before anyone else, I can pinpoint exactly where the shots are coming from, and I can distinguish the different layers of environmental sounds such as wind, cars, airplanes, etc. nothing is muddled up and everything is just the perfect amount of loudness.

The RAPTGO HOOK-X use the classic in-ear monitor type of design, with a triangular shape and an angled nozzle. They’re quite large, but mostly in terms of depth, so they should fit comfortably in most people’s ears (more on that later). The design itself is nothing special as the faceplates are pieces of metal with holes in them, which is hardly distinctive. The only concession to aesthetics is that the edges of the rims around the faceplates are bright green. I have the steel series arctis pro wireless headset and had no complaints, but a friend suggested some budget IEM’s for a change. MidrangeThe midrange of the Hook-X does have good body and a little warmth carried over from the low-end. Mids sound forward as a whole and have good clarity. Notes have a crispness to them, and resolution is above average to me. Still the speed and separation of the midrange is quite good without losing that emotional tilt to my music. The midrange has an engaging quality to it, more so than the hi-res Timeless. Instead, the Hook has a more expressive and smoother and more moving presentation. The Timeless is a great set but for me the Hook-X fits me better.

Still part of the faceplate is the spearmint chamfered ‘fenders’ of the Hook-X giving it more of a distinctive personality. The Marriage of Figaro -The opera song from Shawshank Redemption, terrible recording but fun and gets me in the mood to listen to music. MEASUREMENTS:My measurements of the Raptgo Hook-X can be found on my expanding squig.link database: The contrabass sound is wonderfully textured with a linear enough extension, it doesn’t feel hard-slapped and boomy like an over-excited mid-bass boost can offer. One of the advantages of planar bass is its fast transient in layering and the Hook take full advantage of this, while just adding a hint of warmth to the lower mid-range that favor male vocal and permit low harmonic to be properly presented. Raptgo is a Chinese earphone company that is mostly known for its best-selling Hook X hybrid IEM, but they have other IEMs with different drivers configuration which include single DD, hybrid DD+BA, and Multi-BAs.
