This story developed well with both MCs seeing each other in a different light. I loved the humour of these two however I don’t know anyone in the real world who would still have a job if they behaved like Dakota and Lincoln😂😂

Lincoln Burns, thirty-two, is the bossy billionaire CEO of Haughty But Nice, an upscale fashion empire. Their focus is quality, and they tend to steer away from over-the-top designs. It is a family company, and he took over the helm when his mother retired shortly after his father’s death. Lincoln worked his way through his grief and has not stopped since. He has brought modern business ideas to the job, and it has paid off in spades. His newest project is the launch of a wedding line, but the endeavor isn’t cheap, so there is also great risk. Marketing will be critical to their success. Besides grieving his father’s death, Lincoln’s workaholic tendencies have a few more motivations. His best friend, Wyatt Emory, has had a rough time since they left the Marines. Lincoln took note of the power of love to ruin a man. His own experience with love blew up, too, when plans to spend his life with Regina Swann ended in disaster. Even his parents’ perfect marriage had a lesson for him. Lincoln has decided that work, not love, is a more worthwhile use of time, and with Haughty But Nice, he has found purpose. He only does one-nighters, but even those haven’t interested him in quite some time. Dakota Poe, twenty-four, has a lot of attitude. The jaded blonde beauty has a super sweet side, but she also has a strong feisty streak that won’t be tamed. That might be especially true in the last year. She recently moved to Seattle and hopes to make it her forever home. She comes from Dallas, North Dakota. Many of Dallas’s younger folks eventually move away to bigger cities, but until last spring, Dakota had hoped to stay. She had plans until Jay Foyt broke her heart and forever crushed her dreams of a happily ever after. He never showed up on their wedding day. She was abandoned and humiliated, and in a small town, that is hard to live down. She no longer believes in love, so she is working on her career. She pounced on the opportunity when presented with a job offer in Seattle, but the pay leaves something to be desired and the work is not rewarding. She is therefore looking for something better.

Dakota Poe, twenty-four, has a lot of attitude. The jaded blonde beauty has a super sweet side, but she also has a strong feisty streak that won’t be tamed. She recently moved to Seattle and hopes to make it her forever home. She comes from Dallas, North Dakota. Many of Dallas’s younger folks eventually move away to bigger cities, but until last spring, Dakota had hoped to stay. Jay Foyt broke her heart and forever crushed her dreams of a happily ever after when he failed to show up on their wedding day. Being abandoned and humiliated is hard to live down in a small town. She no longer believes in love, so she is working on her career. She pounced on the opportunity when presented with a job offer in Seattle, but the pay leaves something to be desired and the work is not rewarding. She is therefore looking for something better. Dakota loves writing, and like her distant relative, she gravitates toward poetry. Being related to Edgar Allen Poe has long led to jokes, but she shares in the dark vibe of her ancestor. She won the Young National Poet’s award while in high school, and she hopes to eventually find more time to pursue her poetry. I thought it was too long. By the 30% point the combative banter between Lincoln and Dakota had gone from “cute” to “really annoying”. And it never stopped. They kept rehashing the pastries, the connection to Poe, and prior wedding woes. I couldn’t see why anyone would like someone who talked to them the way Dakota did much less let them work for them. Fans will be thrilled as they come across several crossover references to other series by the author. If you're a fan of slow-burning, enemies-to-lovers office romance stories filled with drama, sizzling chemistry, humor, snarky banter, tension, passion, smoking hot sex, that all wraps up with a HEA, then One Bossy Proposal is the book for you.Lincoln realizes that Dakota is a great asset to his team. She knows what she's doing. She is a great copywriter, and she knows what she's doing with her words when she's editing. Lincoln's main assistant is out on maternity leave and he promotes Dakota to his main assistant and copywriter while his regular assistant is out. One Bossy proposal by Nicole Snow is a full-length enemies-to-lovers romance. It has office banter, pastry mischief, slow-burn spice, plus one bossy suit who might stop stomping around long enough to realize he's falling hopelessly in love. This is a looooong book filled with lots of interesting writing and plot points about the two main characters to create a well developed story which I will love re-reading. I highly recommend reading this book and finding more by this author. You won't regret it!. This story continues in the same vane as these two cannot seem to leave each other alone in terms of annoying repartee. But behind the feistiness and smart arse comments Dakota and Lincoln are both healing tortured hearts caused by their respective ex Fiancés.

This was a very angsty book, so if that’s your thing, you’re in for a treat. I felt like there was too much angst between the milestones. I also felt like the people were a bit pretentious and the Poe thing was way overdone. Also I hated the epilogue. This book is filled with all kinds of emotions and I felt each one of them anger, hatred, love, and loss. I should have known it was Dracula, one again demanding I invite him into my dumpster fire of a life.” The "witty banter" was in fact, not witty at all. It was a bit cringe-inducing and to be honest, if I had a new hire speak to me the way Poe continued to speak to Lincoln, she would've been fired the first week. I tired of the cinnamon roll jokes in the first two chapters as well as the constant references to her last name, Poe. The scenes felt disjointed but then had too much information in others. For instance the conversations between Eliza & Dakota… there were things said in ways that just didn’t seem to flow or things pointed out that were too obvious.
