While Aonuma's explanation is sound, it's still a pretty surprising move by Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild received two expansions after it came out in 2017. Some fans expected that Tears of the Kingdom would follow in that game's footsteps, especially as it would make sense for Nintendo to find more ways to capitalize on a game that has already sold 18.51 million copies. Still, it's probably best for Nintendo to move on from Tears of the Kingdom and create something new rather than making underwhelming DLC for the sake of having post-launch content. Would I recommend you use the Labo Piano to make music when you can get easy access to robust toolkits like Garageband? No, I would not. For the child (or an adult) who does not indulge in creative pursuits, and might be afraid to dive in, Labo wades with you into the murky depth and helps you acclimate to the idea of making something, of creating in addition to consuming. Once you’re ready to build, compose, or create something bigger, you will outgrow Labo. That’s ok. If you play with this toy and go on to make something else — knit a sweater, design a sculpture, or program a video game — Labo has done its job. Still, the instructions aren’t perfect. Given the level of detail that goes into them, it’s almost jarring to notice that the instructions expect you to, for example, automatically take out garbage cardboard used to fill tab slots and other holes. They’re removed in the instructions from the get-go, rather than including it as a step. It’s not a major issue, but this underscores that even the most foolproof instructions require careful attention. Yes. If you have young children who are interested in building toys, or have expressed an interest in making games, Nintendo Labo will be an entertaining and enlightening experience. Even if you don’t, Labo is a fun arts and crafts project made even more compelling by its video game hooks. Really think they priced this wrong. Can't help thinking the model should have been you could buy each item seperately at a much lower price and the software be free.

Nintendo Labo is released as individual Labo Kits, each containing a set of pre-made cardboard cut-outs and other materials, used to make one or more "Toy-Con", and a Nintendo Switch game card, which contains interactive instructions on how to assemble the Toy-Con and software that the Toy-Con can interact with. Once each Toy-Con is constructed, players insert the main Nintendo Switch display and/or one or both of the Joy-Con controllers according to the instructions. Each Toy-Con functions differently in the ways it interacts with either the Joy-Con or the main display.
