About this deal

I own a d7100, and in the DX family – I find no reason to upgrade, except the focus mechanism which seems to be better on the D7200 and on. With this in mind, the question is if it’s worth to upgrade by someone who already uses the older model.

P.S. If you’re not very familiar with SLR cameras, then owning and reading good photography books for beginners should be one of your considerations. Nikon D7100

Presence of user modes U1 and U2, which together with the usual, is like having three cameras in one. The Nikon D7100 is an update of the now three-year old Nikon D7000. Although the D7000 arrived at a time when many weren’t expecting it, as Nikon had the enthusiast DSLR market relatively well catered for with the D90 and D300/D300S, it proved incredibly popular with its match of features and form. Nikon appears to have taken this challenge to heart with the D7100 looking, on paper, like a very significant upgrade. The D7100 becomes the first Nikon DSLR to omit an optical low-pass filter (OLPF), a move we've seen rival Pentax take with its K-5 IIs. In theory, removing the OLPF altogether should result in a higher resolution than the filtered 24MP sensors found in the D5200 and D3200 can produce. We saw Nikon test the waters in this regard with the 36MP D800E, in which the effect of the OLPF was 'cancelled out'. Based on our test results with that camera, we suspect that realizing benefits of the OLPF's omission will require some very good optics at optimum apertures. The downside is, of course, greater potential for moiré-induced artifacts when shooting stills of objects with fine patterned detail. Hi Bob, could you clarify it a bit please? Auto modes (auto, auto [flash off]), Advanced Scene Modes (Portrait, Landscape, Sports, Close-up, Night Portrait), programmed auto with flexible program (P), shutter-priority auto (S), aperture-priority auto (A), manual (M), quiet (Q) and Effect mode. Many experienced photographers will agree that D7100 is one of the good cameras out of the crop sensor ones. The Nikon D7100 design is very similar to the Nikon D7000. It is 5.4” x 4.3” x 3.0” and weighs 1 lb. The Nikon D7100 build is mostly of magnesium alloy, which prevents moisture and dust from damaging the camera. Most people may never take advantage of certain features, but for an advanced enthusiast, it’s exactly what’s needed. In reality, you can’t really tell the difference since there were no problems with autofocus in D7000. If there is one thing to complain about when it comes to the video capabilities of the Nikon D7100, it’s that the video is quite soft. For an everyday shooter, this may not be a huge deal, but for someone who is hoping to eventually go into serious videographer work, it will be frustrating. Nikon D7100 Price

Secondly, if you have old Nikon lenses you’ll be able to autofocus because the D7x00 bodies have a screw drive motor (I mentioned this in the beginning of the article).Even in the Canoner camp, there are ones who use a software/function called “Picture Style” to simulate Nikon into their cameras. This camera sports 51 points auto-focus system which is pretty fast. Its low light performance is very good, even the inbuilt flash works pretty good, no need for dedicated flash for close range photography such as parties and indoor events. In our opinion, it’s the cheapest and best option for the Nikon crop. The lens that everyone should have. Since this filter is removed from this model, nothing gets in the way of obtaining maximum image detail. Yeah, I won’t recommend D7200 and other newer versions, just because they are newer or more expensive. My main aim is to HELP beginners choose their best option. (And I try to do so in the simplest language possible.)
