Marrakech to Fes by Train: Everything You Need To Know Marrakech to Fes by Train: Everything You Need To Know

The seductive colours, sights, sounds and aromas of Marrakech, with a hidden, darker side, are so powerfully evoked that you are instantly transported there' LIZ TRENOW Marrakech and Tangier are the two most popular destinations for tourists in Morocco. Millions of foreigners visit these cities each year. Many of those tourists reach Tangier by ferry from Spain, as it is only a few miles across the Strait of Gibraltar from Europe. Those traveling to Marrakech typically fly, as it is hundreds of miles farther to the south. Rich in courage, love and sacrifice, but chilling and taut in its portrayal of the horrors of war' KATE FURNIVALL The final book in the Daughters of War trilogy, this one is set in Marrakech during the 1960s. A young woman travels to Morocco to visit her estranged grandmother and finds herself embroiled in murder! For The Budget Conscious: Dar Borj is a cozy family-run Dar located in the medina and a few minutes walk from The Blue Gate. With an unbelievable rooftop terrace, enjoy some mint tea and watch the sunset over the media.

I was excited to get my hands on an advance copy of Night Train to Marrakech. I love to share historical fiction and I’m a big fan of Dinah Jefferies. It was a while since I had read the first two books in the trilogy and in a way that was good, because this book can be read on its own. Opting to stop in either Casablanca or Rabat is a great way to break up the train trip to Fes if you have the time! A mouthwatering read, intense and emotional. I loved it. Its characters hooked me irresistibly and stole my heart . . . a wonderful, heart-wrenching tale of love, danger and bone-chilling secrets' KATE FURNIVALL Definitely a novel to be recommended along with its predecessors, Daughters of War and The Hidden Place.

Night Train to Marrakech (The Daughters of War) (Book 3) Night Train to Marrakech (The Daughters of War) (Book 3)

Set in the 1960s, this is the third in the Daughters of War trilogy. Of course, I didn't know this when I signed up to read Pigeonhole's serialisation of Night Train to Marrakech, but I think it is possible to read the book as a standalone anyway. There are other options to take the night train in Morocco. All of the night trains in Morocco involve Casablanca. There are trains from Casablanca to Tangier, Oujda and Nador. The routes to/from Oujda and Nador are less commonly used by tourists. You’ll want (and frankly need) as much time as you can get to explore Fes. It’s massive and nothing short of fascinating!Or, if you have the time, booking a several-day tour ( like this one!) to take you to some of the amazing sights not only on the way to Fes but in Morocco is definitely another great way to get to the ancient city of Fes. Rent A Car It's an epic journey that'll take her to the edge of Atlas Mountains - and closer to the answers she's been craving all her life.

The author is great at conjuring up the surroundings in her novels and this is no exception as the reader is treated to vivid descriptions of Moroccan scenery, cuisine and life in the souks. As with all the books in this trilogy there is a good amount of romance, jeopardy, history and strong characters. I found the historical side of what was happening in Morocco at this time very interesting. A mouthwatering read, intense and emotional. I loved it. Its characters hooked me irresistibly and stole my heart . . . a wonderful, heart-wrenching tale of love, danger and bone-chilling secrets’ KATE FURNIVALL The railways are well maintained (nothing like our train ride to Bagan in Myanmar!), so you’ll chug at a bump-free pace as you make your way to Fes. And sheesh, you should be excited because Fes is a treat!

This is the third book in a trilogy. I have not read the other books but this can easily be read as a stand-alone novel. On the day of your departure date to Fes, you’ll need to make your way to the Marrakech Train Station. Built-in 2008, the Marrakech Train Station is located west of the Marrakech Medina, about a 10-15 minute taxi ride. If the train from Marrakech to Fes doesn’t seem like the right fit for you, understand you have other transportation options to choose from. This is your trip, so you do you! Marrakech To Fes By Bus Although I've never been to Marrakech, the author's beautifully descriptive narrative evoked a powerfully atmospheric sense of the exotic nature of the old city, with its network of labyrinthine streets, swarming crowds and sense of mystery, as well as the beautiful Kasbah du Paradis in the Atlas mountains where Clemence lived. Able to almost feel the intense heat, smell all the different scents of flowers and herbs in her garden, as well as the spices in the souk, to see the beautiful silks, traditional carpets and furnishings in the market, I felt totally transported to this very different world.
