She also described it as: “A riveting crime story was baked into Mo’s novel – such incredible plotting – as a screenwriter, it completely hooked me in.” Where was it filmed? From the latest Scandinavian serial killer to Golden Age detective stories, we love our crime novels!

These guys give us a pretty bad time but not only that, they want to be heard and they want an audience. Honey has got a captive audience in us in the scene where the wonderful Juliet Stevenson, who plays Oliver’s wife, is hanging upside down while he trots out his opera performance from the Barber of Seville. On the surface, it’s a crazy, cruel comedic scene but it reveals how, on different levels, people can be and what they want from each other.

Juliet Stevenson plays nervous mother Matilda Anchor-Ferrers, who gets held hostage at her home. Juliet says: "Matilda is an upper middle class woman from a wealthy family. Her and her husband, Oliver, have two children. The son, who isn't present in the story, is a bit of a big success story which probablymeans a lot to this family as it seems there’s likely been pressure to be successful in this family. Their daughter, Lucia, who in worldly terms has been less successful and is very troubled. From when we first meet them in the car in the first scene, there is a lot of history and delicate references to the troubles that they’re bringing with them. Soap star Sian Reese-Williams appears in Wolf as DI Maia Lincoln, who was involved in the original investigation into the ‘Donkey Pitch’ murders. a b "Mo Hayder, author of inventive but 'jaw-droppingly grisly' thrillers – obituary". The Telegraph. 9 August 2021 . Retrieved 9 August 2021.

Born in Essex on 2 January 1962, Hayder grew up in Loughton as the daughter of John Bastin, an astrophysicist, and Susan Hollins, a teacher. [3] [5] She had a younger brother, Richard. [1] She left school and home for London shortly before her 16th birthday. Hayder was educated at The American University and Bath Spa University. [2] Acting and modelling career [ edit ] Filming began in March 2022 [6] in Monmouthshire and in Cardiff. [7] First look images from the series were released in February 2023. [8] The rave scenes were filmed in Neath Abbey. Other filming locations included Penarth, Pontyclun, and Ewenny Priory in Bridgend. [9] Reception [ edit ] Since then, she has appeared in the likes of Hidden, The Light in the Hall, Hinterland, Holby City, and Silent Witness. Juliet Stevenson as Matilda Anchor-Ferrers Bestselling and prize winning author Mo Hayder has expertly crafted an authentically disturbing, gripping, unsettling and engrossing thriller in Wolf. Perfect for fans of Stephen King, Stuart MacBride and Karin Slaughter, this is one novel you won't be able to put down... One of the things that was really important to me was to make sure that dynamic between Honey and Molina works. I've always wanted to work with Iwan because he's done such fantastic work on screen, theatre and in so many different genres too.a b Dunn, Adam (17 March 2002). "A disturbing journey into the pedophile mind". SF Gat. San Francisco, CA . Retrieved 29 July 2021. Annes was born in Penarth, Wales, and studied music and drama in Cardiff. She has played roles both in English and Welsh, making her most notable TV appearance to date as Beth March in the BBC’s 2017 adaptation of Little Women. The victims as always play a wonderful part in this book. I love the way Mo Hayder invites us to meet new characters in her villains and victims. Her depth of character development in this book are a credit to her and a defining factor in how good this book is. As the bogus detectives, Iwan Rheon and Sacha Dhawan attempt to be comic. It is self-consciously odd, including a dance scene in the final episode (available on iPlayer). Gallagher even throws in a nod to Doctor Who, because Dhawan appeared in that show as the Master. This isn’t really the place for in-jokes. Meanwhile, Sian Reese-Williams ( Line Of Duty, Hidden) stars DI Maia Lincoln, a woman with a case to prove, Juliet Stevenson is Mathilda Anchor-Ferrers, an intelligent yet neurotic wealthy housewife, with Owen Teale ( Game Of Thrones) as her wealthy and well-connected husband Oliver. Annes Elwyplays their daughter Lucia Anchor-Ferrers.
