Contrary to the previous two books which focused on Sky and Holder, this novella features two supporting characters from the first two books: Daniel and Six. In Slammed, Colleen Hoover beautifully captures all the magic and confusion of first love, as two young people forge an unlikely bond before discovering that fate has other plans for them.

Revisiting such an emotional story from a different point of view was no small task, especially since we were left believing that no stone was left unturned in the storyline, but it truly deserved to be told again. From the first moment we hear Holder’s voice, we become aware that to truly understand the complexity of Sky’s reactions, we needed to witness Holder’s too. All the final puzzle pieces are set in place, making this story even more flawless. Holder has had more loss in his life than any young man should ever have to overcome. Losing his childhood friend left him burdened with guilt and regret, but losing his twin sister shattered his heart. “What are the chances that the only two girls in my life I’ve ever loved … I’ve lost?”In Maybe Someday, college student Sydney is devastated when she discovers that her beloved boyfriend is cheating on her. Narrated by Holder, our broody leading man from Hopeless, we hear of how he first meets Sky and all the events and unravel thereafter, with a different twist. The storyline follows Holder as he first spots and meets Sky, falls in love with her almost immediately, and proceeds to learn more about her past, his past, as well as both of their present. We watch both characters learn to heal themselves as they try earnestly to heal the wounds of one another’s past. A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. Despite leading separate lives in their respective relationships, the two continue to meet over time on the same date every year. This book was beautiful, and it took me away from my own problems and I was able to hide in Colleen Hoovers world once again. I truly love her books, and her writing alone has given me a love for reading like I never had before, the depth that this story develops to understand Holder is amazing,..
