It’s not impossible, but not all that common for a brush to fail during this time. Oral-B has had years to perfect the design and manufacturing to limit such.
The iO Series are the only ones from Oral-B to be quieter, all other brushes produce the same noise. ReplyThe iO5 comes with a travel case and a refill holder that holds and protects 2 brush heads. The iO4 does not come with this. Excellent review! And I’m not just saying that due to it having precisely what I was looking for today. A detailed break down of the differences between the iOs 7, 8 and, 9. The equipped quad pacer is accurate, vibrating every 30 seconds to help guide you through quadrants of your mouth as you brush. Another nice feature of the iO is that you can change the brushing time, and the quad pacer will adjust automatically to your new time. And if you need to brush longer, the iO will keep running for a full 5 minutes before shutting off automatically. Battery life Does that mean if, for example, when cleaning my upper front teeth I spent all the time cleaning the outside surface (near my lips), and failed to clean the biting surface or inside surface (near my tongue), the iO6 might still think I’d done a good job for that zone?
I originally wanted the iO series 7 because Consumer Reports here in the US gave it a top rating but it is expensive for an electric toothbrush. But then I saw the Genius X also got an excellent review on CR and saw that the Costco version of the Genius was going on sale this month so I started to consider that one. I’ll take a look at the Smart Clean 360 as well. The features that are most important to me are the pressure sensor and timer. I also want to factor in the price of the replacement heads because that will add up over time. A number of settings like the brush language, Bluetooth connectivity and light ring can be accessed, but more settings and choices are available from the app. Using the iO7 is a slightly more enjoyable experience as the motor produces a less mechanical and intense sound. The other difference, from what I can tell is the 9N comes with 2 pin European power adapter, which would apply for Europeans in the likes of Italy, Germany, France etc.

You can change the cleaning mode on the iO5 before turning the brush on. You can’t do this on the iO4. I hear you on the colours. The choice would be nice, but unfortunately, there is no violet iO9 or pink iO8. The Series 9 has 7 cleaning modes (daily clean, sensitive, super sensitive, intense, whiten, gum care & tongue clean) compared to the 5 of the Series 7 (daily clean, sensitive, intense, whiten & gum care). The extra modes the iO9 has are super sensitive and tongue clean. It’s perfectly satisfactory, but premium brushes from other brands easily give 3+ weeks on a single charge. SURI offers around 4 weeks in a handle half the size. One complaint that we had about the other Oral-B brushes that we tested is that they all looked and felt dated compared to the sleeker models in our tests. Oral-B clearly took note of this when they decided to create the iO series. This brush is very sleek in all white with no visible seams or distractions for the eye. The modern styling stands out from the other Oral-B model series.
If you bought them at the same price, then I would probably go for the iO Series 7. It is the sleeker unit overall. For other brushes in the past ‘N’ has usually referred to the standard brush head, ‘CrossAction’ or in the case of the iO Series ‘Ultimate Clean’. Over the lifespan of the brush, it might not be quite so bad if it lasted longer than less reliable alternatives, but we will never really be able to say for sure. Started to use it and thought it's not cleaning as well as my usual oral-b tooth brush, but seeing and feeling the difference I was amazed.The iO3, 4 and iO5 have a yellow light that illuminates in the center of the cleaning mode button. The handle will vibrate too.
