I really enjoyed this book. It had a few slight imperfections, but by and large, it’s a really well thought out and well put together plot. The writing is solid, the story is interesting and the end comes together very neatly. All good stuff.

I also didn't like the teen girl as she dealt with some romance that was shoe-horned into the story with little relation to it. Shame they had to age up Hilde's sister just for that reason as I know she was in middle school when Hilde was 9. The dad is the only good character out of the whole cast, being the most grounded and deep.

Susan Cheever's 1984 biographical sketch of her father, Home Before Dark is a book I have read more than once, calling on it from time to time but particularly when I am in the midst of reading The Stories of John Cheever. In fact, as much as I enjoy reading Cheever's short stories, Home Before Dark seems to enhance my appreciation of John Cheever.

Home Before Dark is perfectly suited for Halloween, with dark nights and foreboding atmosphere aplenty. While I was hoping for a bit more of a creepy and leading ending, I did get the following: This Web series is the only series where I see some positive energy that kids can gain from the series. Here the kid in the series can be a role model to other kids by showing dedication, hardwork in her passion. Here the Kid also portray to be brave enough at this age. Really a nice one for family to watch. I’m not going to ruin the story but I will leave you with this quote “Oh Maggie, she says. “You really shouldn’t have done that. “ Unease slams onto my shoulders, so forceful that all of Baneberry Hall seems to shake.” Also it’s a wonder why anyone would build an estate and let poisonous berries grow all over your property even though you have a young child, then you name the place after the plant, craziness. You will all love it, just buy it, you won’t be sorry!!! The messages of empowerment are fantastic, though, and create room for some great family discussions about the content. If you haven't read anything by Sager yet and are wondering where to start, I highly recommend giving this one a shot. I think it is a perfect example of his style.There are very few authors whose new novels I look forward to with as much anticipation as I do a new Riley Sager novel, and this year’s release is his best yet.
