The Harry Potter Tamagotchi Nano brings 11 different kinds of magical creatures from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts to the Tamagotchi Nano experience, with appearances from fan-favorite characters. In Japan, the Harry Potter Tamagotchi was sold exclusively through Harry Potter Mahou Dokoro, an official Harry Potter-themed store. There are no on-screen icons, and therefore all information is conveyed through the screen and buttons. The creature is cared for by filling its meters; it has Hungry and Happy meters, each consisting of four units, which are both empty when the device begins. If either becomes empty, it will call for attention to fill them. Bring the Wizarding World to Your Palm with the Harry Potter Tamagotchi Nano If the creature needs something, the user can press the C button for an animation to see what it needs. A dizzy spiral signifies an empty Hungry meter, while a sulking mark signify an empty Happy meter. If both the Hungry and Happy meters are not empty, but the Happy meter is not full, the creature will perform a happy animation. If the Happy meter is full and the Hungry meter is not empty, the creature will perform a Close Up.

After three days (72 hours) of providing good care, the user will be prompted to either release the creature or continue raising it. If the user chooses to keep it, the device will ask again in another three days. If the user chooses to release it, the creature will depart and leave a "thank you" letter. From there, the user can start over again by pressing the A and C buttons together. Tamagotchi is a unique new way for Harry Potter fans to interact with and immerse themselves into the world of Harry Potter while combining a sense of childhood nostalgia. The new Tamagotchi will be released later this year in July, just in time for fans to to celebrate Harry’s birthday.
