If your Fitbit Charge 2 isn't working properly, whether that means issues with step counting or just occasional freezing, it's time to perform a reset. Put the device inside the charging cradle with the screen facing you and the 4 gold prongs aligned. When 1 day or less of battery life remains, a battery icon appears on your device as you tap through your stats.
Log onto Fitbit.com > select the gear icon at the top of screen > choose Charge 2 from drop-down menu. The Fitbit Charge 2 remains a decent device as well though, so if you don’t need the new features and can find that for substantially cheaper it too could be a good choice.

On the Fitbit Charge 2 you can’t interact with notifications at all, so if you want to do more than read them you’ll have to get your phone out. Place the Fitbit Charge 2 into its charging cradle, and then connect the USB cable to a power source. When Flyer's battery level falls to Low or Very Low, the LED changes to red and an audio notification plays. Sync Charge 2 from app by selecting Account in top-left > choose Charge 2 > select Sync Now or All Day Sync. Restarting a Fitbit Charge 2 will fix most issues, but in some cases, you might need to go a step further and perform a factory reset. The Fitbit Charge 3 has all that but also adds to and improves on it. For example, it’s waterproof to 50 meters, so you can take it swimming, while the Fitbit Charge 2 is just splash-proof. Notifications: You can set up the Fitbit Notifications feature, which mirrors some of your phone's notifications on your Charge 2.To change the time on your Charge 2, first change the time on the device you've paired with it and then re-sync both devices. Charge the Charge 2 > open Fitbit app and select Account> Set up a Device> enter PIN from Charge 2 into app.
