About this deal

My Psoriasis does seem to be fading but it is a very slow process. My Doctor prescribed me 6 bottles of the stuff and expressed the hope that a change would occur by the time I had used four of them. I am just starting the fifth bottle and hey presto yesterday loads of my Psoriasis was gone. Unfortunately it has returned today so I don't know if this stuff is working or not. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using Exorex Lotion.

Please note that this update refers to Exorex Moisturising Cream only. Exorex Lotion continues to be available as normal. In 2019, Allergan Ltd announced that the tazarotene-based topical treatment Zorac Gel had been discontinued due to business changes. There were no safety issues with the product. The higher strengths of Dithrocream 0.25%, 0.5% and 1%, were discontinued in May 2021. The lowest strength, Dithrocream 0.1%, has now also been discontinued. In November 2022 we were made aware of a possible availability issue with Alphosyl 2 in 1 medicated shampoo following reports from some of our members that the product had become difficult to obtain. One ingredient of Calmurid (DEA (diethanolamine) and Cocamide DEA) has triggered a safety concern via the regulatory authorities. As safety is our primary priority, Calmurid will not be further produced. My psoriasis was all over and severe when I started using it. I noticed a small improvement within a week which continued as time went on. Within about 6 weeks it was completely gone. Propyl hydroxybenzoate (E216) and methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218) may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed). Dermal Laboratories regret to announce that due to supply chain and other external issues, it has not been possible to manufacture further supplies of Dithrocream (dithranol cream), which has regrettably led to the decision to discontinue the product.

They told the Psoriasis Association 'the minimum volumes that we have to produce on a production run are far higher than demand and as such it wasn't viable to continue producing the product'.

Coal tar and breastfeeding

I am using it at present and getting through a fair bit of it as I am using it three times a day and my Psoriasis is pretty much all over.. Exorex Lotion 1%contains 1% prepared coal tar in the bast of esterified fatty acids. The ingredients used allows you to notice an improvement to your skin within a few weeks, however it may also take longer for the improvement to occur. This product is the most important product within the Exorex Management System as it is indicated for the treatment of psoriasis whilst others are complementary products designed to assist in the management of psoriasis. Unfortunately, treatments and over-the-counter products occasionally become unavailable for a variety of reasons. An increased risk of skin cancer in psoriatic patients treated with a combination of coal tar and UVB radiation has been reported. However epidemiological studies of patients treated with coal tar alone are inconclusive. The risk of toxicity should be taken into account when considering the suitability of this product for the patient (see also section 5.3).

About Exorex Creams, Lotion & Treatments for Psoriasis Give your skin the right treatment with Exorex from Chemist Direct In July 2019 we learned that Thornton and Ross Ltd had announced the withdrawal of Aquamol Emollient Cream from manufacture due to poor demand for the product.

Beiersdorf apologised for any disappointment that this discontinuation may cause and told us they recognise that the circumstances and frequency of use of emollients differ greatly by individual. As such they recommend that anyone who requires an emollient on prescription for their condition speak to their GP or Pharmacist. Children under 12 years and the elderly: as for adults, but the lotion can be diluted by mixing with a few drops of freshly boiled and cooled water if preferred. If you would like more information about scalp psoriasis and its different available treatment options, please do get in touch with us.

Coal tar enhances photosensitivity of the skin, and exposure to direct sunlight after application of Exorex should be avoided. Galderma confirmed that Calmurid has been discontinued, and their medical information team offered the following statement: Coal tar makes the skin more sensitive to sunlight. Exposure to direct sunlight (such as sunbathing) should therefore be avoided after application of the lotion. There may be a very small increase in the risk of skin cancer in patients with psoriasis who are treated with coal tar products, but this is not proven. I can confirm that due to a number of reasons wholly beyond our control and after careful consideration of all possible options, a company decision at global level has been taken to discontinue all strengths of Calmurid. I have been using Exorex for about a month now, twice a day. I have tried just about everything topical over the years, except biologics, and none of it worked.I see your post is a few months old so i’m wondering whether you continued with Exorex and whether it worked.
