About this deal

Hmmmm. This is a NAS not a camera. Any AI is only as good as the original camera image. Poor camera, poor lighting, poor image, useless AI. This is a money making fad. The better place to put the AI is in the edge device itself; the camera. Once the AI has identified a person or vehicle you’ll want the camera to move to that object and zoom in on it. That requires a PTZ camera with reasonably good quality optics. Setting it to "qemu64" with added CPU flags 'qemu64,+ssse3,+sse4.1,+sse4.2,+x2apic,+fma3' : "start failed" The poster stated that the used space was growing, i fail to see how a bad ssd would cause that, if it was bad sectors the overall capacity would decrease, used space wouldnt increase. This screams SMART system so is this something that can be done using a home network that is offline? If it requires to be connected to the grid then it’s a downgrade from the old software. Loitering Detection – Similar to crowd detection, loitering detection is another impressive feature of the DVA1622. This function enables the server to alert you when an individual or vehicle remains within a predefined area for an unusually long period. People just passing by won’t trigger an alert, but if they loiter around for a while, the system will notify you. This helps you keep an eye on any potential suspicious activity around your premises.

The design of the DVA1622 takes a lot of inspiration from the Synology DS720+ and DS723+ NAS units. These two models are less focused on surveillance but still fall under the category of prosumer 2-Bay NAS solutions. Despite borrowing heavily from these designs, the DVA1622 does feature its own unique elements tailored for its surveillance-oriented functionality. Synology develops innovative solutions in storage, surveillance, and networking. Since the launch of its signature Surveillance Station video management system, more than 2 million IP cameras have been activated in more than 60 markets worldwide. With over half a million deployments currently active, Surveillance Station has become a household name in video surveillance. In 2022, Synology released Surveillance Station 9.0, consolidating advances while further pushing the envelope in ease of deployment, management, and operation. The Synology DVA1622 Surveillance NAS Server has been specifically designed to optimally perform with Synology Surveillance Station, which is currently on version 9.1.1. The DVA1622’s seamless integration with Surveillance Station delivers an advanced functionality that far surpasses the features provided by non-edge-AI-recognition NAS servers.Smart Search – This feature significantly enhances the surveillance process by allowing you to focus on a specific area within recorded feeds. For instance, you can set the system to alert you of any movement, person, or vehicle in a predetermined spot, such as a door, desk, or window. By combining Smart Search with Smart Time Lapse, you can sift through weeks of recordings in a fraction of the time, automatically identifying any noteworthy events in a particular spot. It allows you to retroactively apply advanced surveillance parameters, even if they weren’t set up at the time of recording. The DVA1622 will support new features in Surveillance Station 9.0 and will come out of the box with 4K HDMI output, making it both affordable and immediately ready for use in environments where a local display is needed. Integration of DVA devices with CMS since Surveillance Station 8.2 also makes the DVA1622 ideal to add new capabilities where needed in multi-server deployments. I was able to install dva1622 as a VM on my Gen8 running ESXi7 on first try. However, I would rather run tcrp off USB (ie. baremetal) rather than running ESXi off USB and then having datastore for the VM. Trying dva1622 (both 7.1.1 and 7.1.0), I'm able to build, but I'm not able to install the pat file, getting "Failed to install the file. The file is probably corrupted." The existing modules for people counting and facial recognition have also received an accuracy-enhancing update, with a new wizard that allows users to adjust camera angle through an intuitive wizard supported by real-time data collection. When used in conjunction with I/O-module rules, these new and old detection modules can be directly linked with a range of automated actions. Also, Synology’s camera licenses are way over priced and that’s why it’s so expensive. A company that needs CCTV gets a dedicated NVR and also a dedicated NAS.

Given that this is a 2-Bay NAS, the scope for archiving your recordings is somewhat limited, presenting a lower glass ceiling than many non-surveillance NAS. This could be a concern for users who need a large amount of storage for long-term archiving of high-definition surveillance footage. However, for users with moderate storage needs, this should not be a significant issue. Overall, the ports and connections of the DVA1622 are satisfactory, but there are many missed opportunities in scalability for network bandwidth and storage that other Synology 2-Bay NAS models handle better. Therefore, users looking for greater scalability may want to consider other options. It’s now time to delve into the specifics of the internal hardware. Hello, we had a fire in our server room which affected our NAS too. Synology team says Motherboard is damaged & they shown us the same.

Deep Learning NVR DVA3221

what is the right command for building dva3221 there (in case of it supports it in general)? (I dont see there dva3221 available platform) Option2: DVA3221 - you can try to put it on your current Xeon through esxi, most likely it will work same as dva1622, but if you have pci-e slot on your motherboard, you can buy some small form factor Nvidia GTX 1650 gddr5 gpu (and gddr 5 memory is very important since GTX1650 has 2 revisions gddr 5 and gddr6 memory, gddr6 was released after drivers currently installed in Dva3221 so this gpu with that memory is not on the list and will not work) and passthrough it in esxi to vm. But before buying, make sure that your current setup will run dva3221 loader from redpill or other whatever you use. I tested in Vmware Workstation works good so esxi will have no problems + gpu passthrough, but my cpu was i7-8700k so I dont know how your Xeon will handle it.
