The height that you cut your grass to is really a matter of personal choice. Some people like it really short, and others prefer a lush look and to do that it needs to be longer. The mower came without the batteries and charger but radmore were very swift in correcting this, I received them the following day even though it was a bank holiday, excellent !!! Very pleased with this so far. Lasted just over an hour which is as much as I wanted to do in one go anyway! Powered by two 18V Li-ion batteries in series to supply energy to the powerful 36V DC motor drive system. The Makita DLM382CT2 has a 380mm cutting diameter and features a practical, easy-to-use lever for cutting height adjustment which allows for 13 x different cutting heights within a 20mm to 75mm range. The 40 litre grass box has a level indicator for extra convenience.

Cut approx 150m2 of lawn that was fairly long and damp and it did it with ease, and only used about 1/4 of the batteries. pretty impressive! This comes with 4 battery ports; four batteries can be fitted to the Lawn Mower. With the manual selection switch you may select with battery pair to use. For those that don't own these already, then it is better to go with the mower, battery and charger option. The good news is that when you get a battery and charger, then it opens up the possibility of buying any 18V Makita power tool as a "Tool Only" option, which of course makes them cheaper. Cells in some other brands of batteries are not charged evenly, resulting in cells not being used completely, so workloads are decreased at a charge.Its powerful 36V DC motor drive system is powered by 2 x 18v Li-ion batteries and is capable of reaching a no load speed of up to 3,700rpm, providing decent cutting power with up to 30 minutes of run time. Only used once and I have a small lawn so cannot comment on reliability or how long the charge lasts but it worked great. If you have other 18v Makita tools and buy before end of May you can get two free batteries. That’s 4 Batteries and a double charger. Practically get the mower for free, result.
