Right after I put this on, my boyfriend said "Mmm...Vanilla!" And I was surprised because though it smells very sweet, vanilla isn't exactly what I smelled. A couple people mentioned licorice, but I don't smell that.

Loverdose is a bombastically sweet explosion of milky vanilla and licorice. One of the sweetest scents I have ever experienced, at least to my nose. But when you wait a moment for the fragrance to calm down and look behind the in-your-face gourmand notes, there is more to it. A fresh mandarin in the top to cut through the sweetness. A light spiciness. And last but not least an intense jasmine note that I didn't even notice when I was younger, but can clearly smell now. It makes the whole fragrance a little more chic. Worn on skin has great potency and sillage for about 2-3 hours and then it truly is gone, or just a light clothing musk. I still adore it. About 2 hours later, one spray on paper is just like VLJ. I am comparing notes, and they are 60% the same.

It's very suitable for the cooler months. It's quite heady, so I can see it being a bit cloying in hot weather if you overdo it. Having rose and vanilla in common, plus a few other notes... Avon's Imari Elixir reminds me of Tattoo, and it's super cheap.
