About this deal

Professor Poopypants has been literally laughed out of several famous colleges when he tried to present the Goosy-Grow and the Shrinky-Pig (some of those colleges include Harvard, Georgetown, Yale, Stanford, and Chattanooga State Tech Community College). There is an apology and a giveaway at the end of the book, aimed at people who were "traumatized" by the new names inflicted on them by Professor Poopypants. Tippy Tinkletrousers ( Professor Pippy Pee-Pee Poopypants; he changed his name after he went to jail, not by the chart)

Professor Poopypants is then hauled off to jail. On the advice of George and Harold, he changes his name so no one will make fun of it anymore (which he hadn't thought of until George noted that to him). Sadly, he chooses his maternal grandfather's name, Tippy Tinkletrousers, which the people at jail make fun of. I’ve been working on my revenge for years! I’m not going to let you rob me of this moment! I don’t care if it kills me, too! The Professor only made two short cameos in this novel. First in the introduction comic, and the part when Melvin, Captain Underpants, George, and Harold arrive in the present. However in that part, he was only seen from behind. Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants is the fourth book in the Captain Underpants series written by Dav Pilkey. It is the first book where Captain Underpants fully uses his superpowers. Pippy is a hero/villain in the book series, but a villain in the movie. He performs a Heel Face Turn at the end of the fourth book. But at the start of the ninth book, he betrays George and Harold by arresting them for their crimes. On the inside of the cover it shows Professor Poopypants crossing out Dav Pilkey's name and writing the silly equivalent (Gidget Hamsterbrains).

Captain Underpants : Book 4, The Perilous Plot of Professor Captain Underpants : Book 4, The Perilous Plot of Professor

He got a job at Jerome Horwitz Elementary School in Piqua, Ohio as a science teacher, replacing Mr. Fyde who resigned. Everybody laughed at his name. He soon invented the Gerbil Jogger 2000 and showed it to the class. Everyone was impressed by it until they found out that his middle name was Pee-Pee, thanks to a snide remark from George and Harold. Later, he read a comic that the boys had wrote called "Captain Underpants and the Pied Pooper of Piqua". It destroyed his last bit of sanity and made him go crazy with revenge. He was the only character in the film to have his name changed from his book counterpart. In the movie, his full name is Professor Pee-Pee Diarrheastein Poopypants Esquire. In the color hardcover version of this book, there are five bonus fun facts at the end and an introduction to an upcoming comic created by George and Harold. Meanwhile Professor Poopypants has been trying to demonstrate his new inventions to the world, but nobody takes him seriously due to laughing at his silly name. Eventually he begins running out of money to become a teacher at a school. He then goes to a New York coffee shop and after finding an ad, he decides to become an elementary school science teacher. During this time The boy who sees everything his mother can't is seen pouring salt into Professor Poopypants's coffee. He is convinced that the innocence and sweetness of children will let them pay attention to him, but they all laugh at his name instead after he declares what it is.

Professor Poopypants is then arrested and hauled off to jail for his crimes. From the advice of George and Harold, he legally changes his own name so that no one will make fun of it anymore. Unfortunately, he changes it = to that of his maternal grandfather's, Tippy Tinkletrousers, which only makes the prisoners (and police officers) laugh at him even more, much to his anger. Later in the treehouse, George and Harold reflect on the moral to not make fun of people, believing this to be their first story to have a moral. The two news reporters, Ingrid Ashley and Larry Zarrow, appeared in the fifth novel as well. They used the names that Professor Poopypants made for them in this book, possibly because they are getting used to it. Before Professor Poopypants is then hauled off to jail. George then questions Professor Poopypants wouldn't it have been smarter to try changing his own name instead of forcing the rest of the world to change theirs. The surprised professor notes he never thought of that. As per George's advice, Professor Poopypants changes his name so no one will make fun of it anymore. Sadly, he chooses his grandfather's name (on his mother's side), Tippy Tinkletrousers, which Dr. Diaper and the inmates at jail facility make fun of him (including the guards). Yay the fourth book is done. I have seen the Captain Underpants movie (the first one that came out) and it had Professor Poopypants and the Terrible Toilets....I'm pretty sure, so I was familiar with the outcomes of the two stories, however I loved the extra bits that wasn't included in the movie. Like, when Professor Poopypants makes everyone change their names to be as silly as his or he would shrink them. Mine ended up being Pinky Gigglepants, that is actually cute and I think I will continue to call myself that from now on. Maybe tomorrow I'll tell my students at school to call me that too!

So yeah, instead of cheering for the good guys to win.... I was rooting for the professor to get his revenge. Yep, I was rooting for the baddie. Though, then again, he wasn't necessarily evil, he just snapped. I did like his revenge plan, and how (hilariously) people were unhappy. See, you don't like it to be bullied with your name, then don't do it to others. Tippy was a promising scientist who planned on sharing his genius with the world. Unfortunately, due to his silly name, nobody took him seriously. The final straw was when George and Harold wrote a humiliating comic book about him, and he vowed revenge on everyone who made fun of him. He decided to force everyone to change their normal names into silly ones or risk being shrunken out of existence. A student named Robbie Staenburg is mentioned as a student whose name was changed; Robbie Staenburg is the son of Dav Pilkey's agent. He bears similarities to Superman's archenemy, Lex Luthor. Both of them are intelligent scientists that, though without superpowers, are typically a threat to their foes.George and Harold know they have to enlist the help of Captain Underpants. They snap their fingers, and Mr. Krupp takes on his hero persona. He’s still tiny, so the boys have to get the professor’s growth ray. They make Captain Underpants as large as the Gerbil Jogger 2000. Then the hero and the professor do battle. Captain Underpants wins, and Professor Poopypants goes to jail. He writes to the boys from prison, saying he’s sorry and that he’s changing his name so no one will ever make fun of him again. The new name he’s chosen is Tippy Tinkletrousers. Miss Gigglesniffer, Mrs. Bubblesniffer, and Miss/Mrs./Ms______ ( Miss Creant, Mrs. DePoint, and Miss/Mrs./Ms.______; The lunch ladies) Using the Goosy-Grow 4000, he makes the Gerbil Jogger 2000 grow as large as a building and then gets inside. He shrinks the school and holds everyone in it hostage. He then unveils his plan to force everyone on Earth to change their names so that everyone will have a silly name instead of a normal one, and anyone who refuses will be shrunk. Professor Poopypants does this first on Mr. Krupp, who becomes Lumpy Pottybiscuits. All the children find this funny, until Professor Poopypants forces them and the staff members to use the chart to change their names as well. Laugh out loud with Captain Underpants, the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Dav Pilkey, the creator of Dog Man!
