Cerrosafe is a chamber casting alloy used to make a cast of a gun chamber, which shrinks during the first 30 minutes of cooling and then becomes exactly chamber size. Okay.....I admit it..I am a gadget nut and love all manner of tools. I also love to cook, and am constantly buying first one kitchen gizmo or another. The ones that work well go in my gadget drawer. The ones that don't either go in the trash or are donated to my younger sisters that don't cook as well as do I...Ha ha. I have always been disappointed with bought scrapers. Maybe its that when making your own you learn how to sharpen them, making keeping them sharp a mastered skill. I don't know. I can make a scraper in 30 minutes - why buy?Also the one shortgrass pictured is good. The dowel and sandpaper will do it but it will take a long time and work.
