We see most of the story through her eyes, and her weakness shows through every experience she has. Like every other Sarah Waters' books, Affinity will remain with me for a long time to come. If I had not read any other books by this author, it would have been a 5 star read for me. Affinity, in my opinion, is not her best, but still a fantastic read. Sarah Wates' lyrical writing makes every book worth it. However, Waters' writing detailing delicious descriptions of life in a Victorian women's prison was awesome. So awesome in fact that I felt like I was there in the bleak and rigid clasp of fear and despair - haunted (haha) by the question if the supernatural could be real.
