About this deal

The main change between BA and BN was a resetting of the focus mechanism to give closer focus. But, since the range of motion of the mechanism was not changed, the distance "past infinity", or the accomodation to nearsightedness, was reduced. Did you actually measure it? Is it a GSO finder? It seems to me, my GSO RACI finder is about 5 degrees. Agena specs it a 5.4 degrees. I have seen the non-HD Ultravid 8x50 criticized for excessive eye relief and color fringing, by one of our more esteemed and near-impossible to please members. I flip and flop in my sensitivity to color fringing, but hate eye relief problems, and would take that comment seriously.

The high weight is the consequence of the degree of ruggedness and precision that Leica achieved without the benefits of magnesium, titanium, polycarbonate, etc.THANKS. I never though of using a digital level to measure. I am guessing mine is the GSO version, but that simply is a guess.Hopefully the skies around here will cooperate this weekend and I will give it a shot to see what I get. Perhaps Leica should take an example from Zeiss and make a line of hunting binoculars with greaseless focusers for hunters (and owlers), and another line with grease for birders. Steiner Navigator Pro 7x50 Binoculars are an ideal choice for outdoor and sporting activities. The floating prism system makes it easier to see in low-light conditions, as well as for prolonged periods of use. The Makrolon housing is extremely durable, lightweight, and weatherproof. Read Review I use a 24 mm TeleVue Wide Field that i added cross hairs to. It does a good job and provides a 6.8 degree TFoV at 8.3x with a 6 mm exit pupil. I think the 20 mm ES 68 would be a good eyepiece for my SV finder , 6.5 degrees at 10 x with a 5 mm exit pupil . The field stop is wide enough to glue the cross hairs to. got a few questions, how much when it was brand new? seems like leica didn't make it for many years , which year did leica stop making it? and how is the optic performance? thank you

I myself am a big fan of 8x50 or 8x56 binoculars. They provide fantastic brightness and are very comfortable to use. You can always extend the inter-barrel distance a bit more than usual and get a kind of "wide screen" view of the field (thanks to their very large exit pupil). For some reason, most manufacturers do not publish field of view specs for their finders. I find this frustrating as this is a critical specification. So thanks for getting those numbers, Jon. Thanks for these charts, I have not seen them before. Another source of information to mix my mind up . Because we are product consulting professionals with much expertise, we believe the data is credible. Aside from that, the best 8x50 binoculars data is kept up to date, and you may feel confident that the information is up to date and correct. The first trinovid had 3 new features employed in its design - hence the name meant "three innovations for seeing" . These were :

Universal Red Dot Finder for Telescopes

I will give Ultravid a try one more time, but as I remember I pulled the occular all the way when looking through without my glasses on and closed it when looking with my glasses on.
