About this deal

When the Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance feature is enabled, Elfin will automatically scale the projected image to avoid obstacles in the projection area. The 800 ANSI Lumens are a particularly nice touch for the Elfin, as most mini projectors in this class use LED Lumens, which are significantly less bright than their ANSI counterparts. It’s not a match for a dedicated sound setup, but most people will be more than happy with the sound from either of these, but particularly the MoGo 2 Pro. Yes. The screen zoom feature allows you to alter the XGIMI Elfin's screen based on your specific needs.

In practice, I never hear the Elfin when watching a movie, but can hear the Elfin in quiet moments.Voice control: allows you to use simple voice commands via Google Assistant to open apps, search for your favorite content, or play music. With Elfin, you’ll never feel frustrated by a slow or complex setup. Simply plug it in, power it on rapidly with our fast boot function, and let the Intelligent Screen Adaptation (ISA) technology perfectly adjust your display in seconds. The remote works via Bluetooth and must be paired at first start up, but note that you do need 2 x AAA batteries which are not included. It also supports Chromecast (which means you can ‘cast’ videos and photos easily from other devices running on the same network) and voice controls via Google Assistant. Voice control is surprisingly useful on a projector, given that you’re ideally using it in a very dark room. Picture and performance: the light fantastic

If you can't find the desired app from the Play Store, it's recommended to install the application via a USB disk: I’ve had it for about three months now and not had any issues. Android TV just updated and I had to reinstall Netflix from the desktop manager app and re-login, but that’s the worst thing that’s happened. Standby status: After 5 seconds without a 3D signal, the glasses will automatically switch to standby mode; the green LED light will also flash every 5 seconds.Although best suited for night-time viewing where you’ll have no problems getting a 100-inch picture, the Elfin offers powerful sound and accurate colors, combined with some clever auto-setup options that makes it a treat to use anywhere in the home. Considering the fairly mediocre performance of other projectors of about the Elfin’s size, you might be forgiven for thinking that the Elfin would be equally weak, but in fact the Elfin offers the best performance in any portable LED projector that I have seen. Is it cheap? Not exactly. You’ll definitely find a decent 55-inch 4K TV for less. However, considering that non-smart 1080p projectors from BenQ, ViewSonic and HP sit at its price point, you’re absolutely getting a lot of value for your money here. Meanwhile, high-end 1080p smart home projectors, like the Xgimi Horizon, are more than double the price. The Elfin projector features a pair of 3-watt Harman Kardon speakers built in, and while they’re plenty loud, the bass performance leaves something to be desired. Don’t expect the full movie theater experience unless you pair the projector with external speakers. Photo: Andrew Liszewski - GizmodoExcellent review! Tim, I’m concerned that Erfin might work in daylight while Mogo 2 only functions in a dark room. This value is the theoretical lifespan of the light source. The actual lifespan may vary according to different environments, modes, and user experiences. In action, the visuals are sharp enough, though. The Elfin also provides a picture with color that pops. This may be because it is a bit oversaturated, particularly when yellows are prominent in a scene, but the picture never appeared garish. In my opinion, the MoGo 2 Pro is the better projector. It has better colors and sound, and can be powered by a USB-C powerbank (although a 65W bank with a high capacity are currently quite expensive).

For Android users, the XGIMI team is currently working on updating this feature; please stay tuned. The auto screen adjustment process runs whenever you switch on the Elfin, and is a joy to behold if you have ever had to manually focus and keystone projectors yourself. It also offers plenty of contrast and vibrant colors, although if you raise the brightness level all the way up, the picture does get a tad washed out. Drop it down too low, and it’ll likely lose a lot of details in the shadows. Turning on the HDR10+ gives a nice little boost, but don’t expect anything mind-blowing. Looking at the above image, you can clearly see a more purple tint to the MoGo Pro 2 when compared with the Elfin, which gives much richer colors. You will be up and running within a couple of minutes, without having to read any instruction manuals. USB charging: A red indicator light will appear when the glasses are charging and will automatically shut off once the glasses are fully charged.
