About this deal

These issues aside, the HFS features some wonderful new innovations in terms of the upper. With a dual-layered engineered mesh system, these trainers are just as comfortable to the barefoot as they are with my customary Injinjis. The toe box is large, wide, and deep. Most barefoot shoes boast about their wide-toe boxes, but some forget about the depth. As with most Xero Shoes, there is ample height in the toe box, allowing your toes to wiggle with complete freedom.

Personal: B (I enjoyed testing this shoe, but it isn't protective enough for me to keep in my weekly rotation) Skratch Recovery, Coffee Flavor: Mental and physical boost post run. Coffee flavor is excellent and goes great straight into a fresh brewed cup

Great article! My first pair of barefoot shoes were vivobarefoot that I got a few months ago and I love them!! I have a small heel and a wide ball. They are so comfortable even though they could actuality be a little bit smaller in the heel for me. They just feel so good and the laces are so secure. I just got some Xero sandals and I have to say if these were my first pair of barefoot shoes I probably wouldn’t have got another pair. The bottom of the sandal isn’t exactly the shape of my foot and when I splay my toes the pinky goes over the edge. I can’t wait to get another pair of Vivobarefoot shoes. With their low-profile, lightweight design which accentuates the natural stability of your own two feet, barefoot shoes (like the Merrell Vapor Glove 5) make for fantastic gym trainers.

For more versatile training and CrossFit-style workouts, there’s a fairly clear winner between these three models. Of these shoes, the Xero Shoes 360 is the strongest performer for CrossFit and CrossFit-style training. In addition, I also really like this model for more versatile training due to its removable insole being a bit more responsive in nature. It’s nice to have the option to leave it in or take it out. Nonetheless, as mentioned previously, with little antimicrobial integration, the longevity of the shoe may come into question outside the customary 6-12 month range. Style Vivobarefoot always has the issue of price. Sometimes they’re worth it, but if you want a compromise, they do have the Re-Vivo shop, which are “pre-loved” shoes. They’re a slightly lower price, and there’s less wastage involved. A win all round. Natural Flexibility and Function — Our exclusive FeelTrue and FeelLite soles let your feet bend, and flex the way they’re supposed to, for balance and agility.

The makers of these shoe are correct. We were created to walk flat on the ground and not in shoes that lift you off the ground (possibly causing our body to become more off balance) and even tampering with our arches. Not to mention our toes being crammed in our shoes. Toes are so free to move in my Xeros! Another nice perk of these models and their insoles is that the internal construction of the shoe is also finished. So, if you like to remove the insole and wear your shoes or train, you don’t have to worry about that awkward thread-like material that some shoes have when removing their insoles. Xero Shoes 360 Vs Xero Shoes Prio Vs Xero Shoes HFS Durability Well, it could be for the “Highly Flexible Sole” that lets your foot move naturally, or the face you’ll make when you put it on — “Happy Face Shoe” — or the way you run in it with a “High Frequency Stride”, or what you exclaim when you put it on and feel the comfort and light weight: “Holy ___ ___!” Performance: B+/A- ( Excellent ground feel while still having a soft insole. Extremely flexible outsole that feels great running at higher speeds for short distances or longer efforts if used to barefoot/minimal shoes. Not enough cushioning or protection for me to use personally beyond short mileage. ) You won’t find any cushioning in their range of shoes, and that’s because they’re a “barefoot”/minimal brand, meaning that they’re trying to obtain the closest possible feeling to barefoot as possible. In short, that means a thin sole and maximum flexibility to allow the foot to function exactly how it was designed to perform.

We were psyched on the fit and feel of this completely redesigned trail-runner, only to be disappointed by an overdesigned and uncomfortable midsole More importantly, the moisture management on a shoe as low profile as the HFS is superb. In addition to the upper materials, the huarache-style midfoot and heel straps feature a TPU covering with hi-visibility stripping for safety when training in twilight hours. As you can gather, both Xero Shoes and Vivobarefoot will be great options if you want to reclaim your natural barefoot strength. The similarities between Vivobarefoot and Xero Shoes If your feet don’t feel as good at the end of the day as they did in the beginning, you haven’t tried the HFS II.Like the original HFS, the HFS II is super lightweight (8.3 oz, M9) so you’ll feel like you’re flying down the road. And with a new tire tread-inspired outsole, you’ll feel secure even if you go off road. Huarache-inspired design — the adjustable instep and midfoot straps are not just eye-catching but functional, giving you a secure and comfortable fit. Going barefoot on runs has many benefits, such as improved balance and agility, better posture, reduced injury risk, and heightened sensory awareness of the terrain beneath one’s feet. It can also help strengthen foot muscles and improve proprioception (the sense of knowing where one’s body is in space). For example, there are nuances that exist between every pair of Xero Shoes, and knowing each shoe’s differences can help you find the best barefoot shoes for your needs. After you’ve read the rest of the post, I think it’s obvious that the Prio will win the durability round.

Second, this model’s sole does a good job with traction for both running and lifting. If you’re wanting a barefoot shoe primarily for running, but also plan to lift in the same model, then the HFS (much like the Zelen) can be a great hybrid barefoot shoe. We all have different feet! Different shapes and sizes, different strengths and weaknesses, and different movement patterns. All in all, I think that the Xero HFS barefoot running shoes are a great choice for those who are looking for an affordable and durable minimalist or barefoot shoe. The Zero Drop design promotes natural foot motion and the wide toe box allows ample room for your toes to move freely.Natural FIT — Our sandals and shoes have wide-toe boxes to let your feet spread out naturally. They have non-elevated “zero-drop” soles for proper posture. If you’ve been considering investing in a pair of barefoot shoes, then you’ve likely looked into Xero Shoes before. Xero Shoes designs a variety of barefoot shoes that span across multiple training demographics. Three of their most popular shoes for strength training, running, and CrossFit include the Xero Shoes 360, Prio, and HFS. To gather the data, I ran on a relatively flat 0.5-mile trail, running the first half at a 5:15 min/km speed and the second half at 4:10 min/km. The Xero Shoes Prio’s durability has stood up well to my daily wear and resistance training workouts. This model is pretty standard with its construction and shouldn’t break down on you if you’re limiting how much friction the upper is experiencing. In terms of comfort, these shoes receive high marks and the 5,000 mile sole warranty gives you peace of mind that these shoes will last. If you are new to barefoot running, it is important to take your time and get used to these shoes slowly but if you’re an experienced barefoot runner, these shoes should work great for you. Ultimately, it is up to you as a
