My advice would be to see a pelvic health physiotherapist. I would recommend every woman visits one postnatally regardless of symptoms. We are trained to assess and rehabilitate women during and after pregnancy. You can see a pelvic heath physiotherapist via the NHS or privately. The book sometimes only scratch the surface of important topics but I kind of understand that given that it is directed to the general population and it is not an academic book. Some of the chapters were very short, they felt like a summary of something larger and yet they had the bullet points summary at the end because that’s just the way the book is formatted. I think it could have been better if the summaries were at the end of each part rather than chapter with the most important things included. All in all, dari beberapa buku psikologi yang udah gue baca, WHNTMTB ini terasa yg paling komplet dan cocok jadi bekal awal untuk mulai belajar mengontrol respon, atensi, dan mood kita. The basic structure of this book goes: I won’t tell you to (insert common self help advice) like other self help books. Dr. Smith's writing style is empathetic and compassionate, creating a safe space for readers to explore their emotions and vulnerabilities. The book not only provides practical tools but also promotes a deeper understanding of how our minds work. This knowledge enables readers to fortify their mental health proactively, making it an essential companion in the journey towards self-care.Why haven’t women been given this sort of information so readily? Is it because of the patriarchal society that we live in, fear of putting women off having a baby or simply just a blatant oversight? Whatever the reason it’s simply not ok. Having a baby is a major life changing event and needs to be honoured and considered like this. If we associate failure with unworthiness, then starting anything new is going to feel overwhelming and procrastination will be front and centre. We protect ourselves from the psychological threat of shame by sabotaging the process before it gets started.” Full of honest advice and inclusive options, Why Did No One Tell Me This? is the funny, personality-filled, illustrated guide to pregnancy, birth, and beyond that modern parents have been waiting for. I really wanted to love this after following Dr Julie on social media for quite some time now, but I just didn’t. It was quite bland and I felt often like she only scratched the surface. I was expecting more science, more depth. But it just felt a bit like there were too many things covered in not enough depth.

Through it's practical structure, it allows the reader to dip in and out, with bitesize chapters focusing on a specific topic or issue.Thoughts are not facts. They are guesses, stories, memories, ideas, and theories. They are … one potential explanation for the sensations you are experiencing … So what does this mean for those anxious thoughts that pop into our heads? It means the power of that thought … is in how much we buy into it. How much we believe that thought to be a true reflection of reality. The best way to break down the power that thoughts have over our emotional state is to first get some distance from them. How do we get distance from something that is inside our head? She reveals that most people struggle in some way, even if they do not show it. (groundbreaking, isn't it?). Then she introduces "revolutionary" concepts of mindfulness, gratitude, and self-compassion. She heavily relies on cognitive behaviour therapy's theory that by changing how you think, you can change how you feel and behave. And, of course, exercise, go outside, spend time with loved ones, she says.

My Book — PHYSIOMUM

You can't control the thoughts that arrive in your mind. The part you can control is what you do once they appear'. Mindfulness is a great skill … for building that ability to … notice your thoughts and let them pass without getting caught up in them. … If you can notice a thought for what it is – a biased guess, and label it as such, then … that is one way of holding the thought at arm’s length. Your mind can then see it as just one possible perspective. We are then in a much better position to be able to consider the alternatives. …” The book is for anyone considering getting pregnant, pregnant, or who has had a baby. This is not ‘another’ baby book it is a book for women about their body! It is also for anyone that works closely with pregnant or new mums but isn’t as such a specialist in the field. We hear a lot about the coronavirus - its physical symptoms, its medical dangers, the residual effects of severe infection - but we hear next to nothing about the stress of living through an ongoing pandemic. Set the virus aside for a moment. Merely enduring the day-to-day of it all has been extremely hard. The psychological strain? Crushing. And many of the remedies for psychological strain (join a gym, take a class, visit loved ones, get a hug) have been forbidden to us for great stretches of time. This is worth someone's attention, and if the government isn't going to give it any, if the media isn't going to give it any, if Dr. Fauci has his hands full, then I guess we're on our own. I will be using this book for reference. The various sections deal with moods, motivation, emotional pain, grief, self-doubt, fear, stress, and how to lead a meaningful life.
