Eugene is talking to the Radio Survivor about his trip from Texas, the Survivor gets the idea that Eugene is from Texas. Their conversation is cut short when Eugene hears a gun shot and runs outside to investigate. The AMC television series The Walking Dead (2010–2022) loosely follows the storyline of the comic book. The Walking Dead franchise has also spawned multiple additional media properties, including four companion television series (the first two of which were Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond), eight webisode series, video games (starting with The Walking Dead: The Game), and various additional publications, including novels (starting with The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor). At the Hilltop, Sophia is eating lunch when Joshua introduces himself and asks to join her, to which she begrudgingly agrees. It wasn't perfect, no - in my opinion, perfection seems an impossible goal for something that lasted for more than a decade and a half, but I digress - but its ending was pretty damn close. Did it suffer from some of the same stilted dialogue as the rest of the series? Sure. But did these undercut the emotional beats of its resolution? Not for me. Not after so much time, investment, and love. Did its characters shine, did they grow, did you believe in them, feel for them, right up until the end? I know I did. The original pitch for the comics was a follow-up to horror legend George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead.But, it was suggested to develop an original concept that spawned the modern story we know and love today.

Pamela finds the ordeal excellent, as it means that they can now skip to the part where they are getting to know each other and can actually start being friends. Eugene then asks if this means that he can finally be able to talk to Stephanie. Pamela then tells Lance to send for Stephanie, and tells the group that they are currently gathering the weapons that the Commonwealth previously took from them to return them. Pamela also voices a desire to see Alexandria for herself. She asks Eugene whether he and his group would be ready for a return trip soon, hoping for the group to enjoy the Commonwealth's hospitality first. Eugene nervously agrees on staying for a couple of days to organize the trip.

Inside the house, Sophia lifts Hershel out of his crib just as Maggie and Carl arrive. Maggie tells them to leave, but Carl insists they go and he will make sure the house is clear despite Maggie's resistance. Mercer and Juanita have just had sex, with Juanita joyfully exclaiming that it was the best sex she ever had. Juanita asks whether their relationship is casual or something more. Mercer says he likes to listen to Juanita talk and answers that it's something more, as casual isn't really his style, much to Juanita's joy. The two kiss. Juanita is thankful to have left Pittsburgh, and thinks her life has been getting better every day since then.
