And is that because a) Bluesound wants it to work that way and forces it or b) that's how Tidal behaves on the Node or c) because the DAC is not actually capable of that first unfold over coax and the Node knows that so it does it. Or d) some other reason? For anyone following, I got a second E50, and have had 0 issues using it the past couple of days. Looks like my first one was a defective unit.

I am kind of thinking the same as it looks very likely to me it’s the inability of the USB port to handle MQA signal transfer.That way MQA first unfold will be done by Roon, DSP volume adjustment applied, but MQA signaling will be preserved via RAAT transfer to the DAC for the final unfold and render blah blah.
