Perfect for fans of Shea Ernshaw and Taylor Swift's Folklore."—Rosiee Thor, author of Tarnished Are the Stars Thomas Ady (fl. 17th century) was an English physician and humanist who was the author of three sceptical books on witchcraft and witch-hunting, using the Bible as the source. The ending - the author missed a great opportunity to further her message regarding climate change. i love a happy ending but this one was too neat

Despite this, I remained engaged and intrigued throughout. Clara was a strong protagonist and witnessing her growth, in both person and abilities, was a true joy. Macbeth realises that he has been responsible for so many acts of violence already that it's impossible to undo them and he may as well keep killing. But contrary to what superstitions and pop culture would lead you to, there are so many different witches out there. The world of Paganism, Neopaganism, Wicca, and more is large and vast and the witches in each are all different and unique.Witches can literally feel the energy around them. In modern times, we call these vibes. There are good vibes and bad vibes. Both mean the same thing. These people can feel someone’s energy and determine their emotions by merely being in their presence. Not only are they able to do this, but they will also be able to feel the emotions around them within themself. This is because they are naturally empathetic. Animals Are Attracted To Witches

Those that practice the Wiccan religion are well versed in the herbs of the Earth, and in the ways that we can use them to heal ourselves. There are no muscle relaxers for anxiety, but instead, there is meditation. Although these people do believe in the occasional medicinal procedure, it’s not routine to visit a Western physician for every small thing. Instead, rituals and practices get the job done. Innate witches know this without having to be told. They Stand Apart From Others When someone is born a witch, they are born with their gifts as well. This means that they do not know what it’s like to not be a witch. As a child, this witch had an intuition that was unexplainable. They knew about things before they happened. These children remained a marvel to everyone around them due to their amazing intuition. This is common when you’re a witch. You Are Filled With Kindness Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review. I was also really confused with the little Epigraph we got at the beginning of each chapter because they were so beautiful and I kept searching "A Season for Everything" on Google and I didn't get where the author got the quotes!! But all those quotes tied up for a precious surprise at the end which is always lovely. The characters are three witches who are mysterious and otherworldly. They speak or chant with a particular rhythm of their own.The romance also didn't work for me. I didn't find it was well developed and I didn't buy the chemistry between Clara and Sang. The connection between Clara and Paige was more interesting to me, but nothing came from that. Griffin proves you don't need big twists or gasping moments to create a captivating, compelling and spell-binding story stars!! When you see a witch, you’ll notice that they aren’t always with the crowd even if they don’t know they have powers yet. This is because they know that they are different from others. They might not know why yet, so it leads to them being an outcast. Sometimes, even after discovering who they really are, they remain outcasts because they find it hard to relate to others. Highly Empathetic We're in Clara's head but it doesn't feel like she's changing and becoming a different person every season. Other people that know Clara point out that's she's so different from last season's Clara but I don't see any difference. A bright, fresh read from a glowing new voice, THE NATURE OF WITCHES is both timely and stirring. Griffin's emotional writing that cuts to the heart will make her a new YA favorite."—Adrienne Young, New York Times bestselling author of Fable

The Nature of Witches by Rachel Griffin | Goodreads

This is a world where witches help control the weather and other disasters that the regular people (Shadows) have messed up. (Pollution, global warming, deforestation, etc.) I’m so in love with this book! It’s so moving and some of the stories bring me to tears not because it’s sad, but because it’s relatable and shows that we’re not alone.” — KendraMacbeth recalls an old saying that blood shed through violence seeks more blood in revenge, creating a cycle of bloodshed; he feels trapped in the inevitability of this violence.

I really liked the climate element of this book – I just really wish it was more than just surface level. While there was some discussion about climate change and how humans are destroying the earth through our actions, it felt very weak considering it’s a massive selling point of the book. Don’t get me wrong, I think the inclusion of it anyway was very seamless and added more dimension to the narrative, but there was an opportunity for more here and I felt like it was wasted.years old Clara is the Everwitch whose magic tied at every season. When the autumn’s equinox comes, she forgets her feelings about someone she truly cared before. She’s evolving, changing. And her past traumas which lasted the death of her family and her close friend Nikki forces her to put barriers between her and other people. Traditional witches are witches who have a base in the history of witchcraft and the Old Craft that came before Wicca. They take a historical (traditional) approach to their practice and often will study their ancestors or other folklore attached to witchcraft. Traditional witches want to honor the “old” ways of practicing their craft, and will often focus on working with the local history and spirits of where they are or where they’ve come from. While these witches do old history and customs in high regard, there are absolutely contemporary traditional witches practicing today. 2. Gardnerian Witch The main point of conflict in the book also didn't work for me at all. Clara was supposed to be a very powerful witch, an Everwitch, but due to the previously mentioned trauma, she refused to work with her powers and had a lot of issues with her magic. Her reasoning was that she didn't want anyone to get hurt, which is ok. Except that! her refusal to learn how to control her magic got people hurt several times throughout the book :)
