About this deal

I think I’ve only seen Phantom of the Opera once from the 2004 movie so it was good to have descriptions of things that happened during the musical. And those kisses did not disappoint! I don’t know of any other author who can make me feel so much. Which is why she is my favorite. The trigger was when she listened to another writer tell her story of getting into writing and becoming published. All she did when she first started was try to imitate what she loved in the books she loved to read. She used to take note on the use of dialogue tags and how things were worded and would try to replicate that. There was just something about a guy who could handle a ball and lead his team to victory that was super attractive to me.

The Facade – Author Judy Corry

And when I heard footsteps on the path outside my open balcony window the next night, I hurried down to help him before he could end up in the pond again. Totally excited for Hunter and Scarlett. I suspect Hunter might end up being my favourite EFA student. 🙊 I loved this story. I was hooked from the start. It flows really well and I liked the originality of the plot. Definitely recommend this one. Why would she say that? I had told Derek that I might show up with one of our teammates’ sister-in-law if his wife arranged it. Corry never realized that she wanted to write until she was 26 and a mother taking care of three kids. During this time, she was reading a lot of books as she had been a rabid consumer of books for several years then. However, writing was a brand new thing for her. This is one of my favorite books! As soon as I read the description, I nearly put the book down, because I am SUCH a hard-core Elyse + Nash shipper. Or, I was. Asher has proved to be one of my favorites of all of Judy’s characters. He is so lovable and so easy to empathize with. Judy always has that talent to sunk you in with detailed scenes. For this book, she took it up a notch even more. And I adored it. When it happened a third night and he still wouldn’t ask my brothers or anyone else for help, I decided to sneak him up into my bedroom so that if he had another episode, I could catch him when he first got up instead of having to chase him through the woods between our houses.

Asher was perfect, an absolute flirt. The cheeky comments he made has me in stitches. The tension between him and Elyse was undeniable. I adored Elyse, you feel sympathetic for her because of the position she was in having to choose between the two. I won’t spoil anything but that one scene 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽

Nash and Elyse were both big into the theater program at our school, and while the auditions for the winter musical weren’t for several weeks, Nash was basically a shoo-in for the male lead. He’d already played bigger roles in last year’s musicals—not the lead yet since the drama teacher Miss Crawley liked to fill those with seniors when possible. But only something crazy would keep Nash from winning the part of the Phantom. And I was pretty sure Elyse had a good shot at getting the part of Christine. There was a hint of anxiety in his eyes at the mention of his parents leaving. And I hated seeing it because I hated that his family was even dealing with this. Dealing with the possibility of his mom not being here to watch him graduate.
